Okay so I was playing ME1, and had this idea.  In ME1, you and your romance character are pretty much tied together.  And given that it is a game, I was wondering if this might lead Miranda (or whoever) to shoot me in the back in ME3 if I were to stay with my original romance option.  Would that be too Fatal Attraction?

I think that romancing her will just be one of the ways to gain her loyalty.

Since a few of your companions may have thought you dead for two years, who is to say that they themselves haven't moved on? Liara will live for a thousand years or so, so she knows she'll have to move on eventually anyway, and Ashley and Kaidan aren't getting any younger. Maybe it'll be like the end of "Castaway."

Yeah, but what if in ME3 you betray the loyalty and she's some kinda kickass biotic and decides to kil you? That was what I was thinking.

There should be the option of her betraying you. It would make sense...not that i'll ever give her a reason to.

I had thought of this too, but say you went with your ME1 love interest in ME3.  Would your ME2 love interest be crazy enough to try and kill you.  I mean look at the characters in ME2 (male or female).  Do you think that they might not be crazy enough to off you in ME3 if they thought you cheated on them?

Kill you? That's a little severe.

I'm not saying that you would die so to speak, only that somebody would betray you for messing around on them.

It depends on much attached they get, and what role the play in the game. I would welcome the dynamic though. It add another notch to how relationships work. If they just sit around for two years, it'd be waste.

You're assuming your ME1 love interest will want anything to do with you after cheating on them. Casey Hudson has said that cheating will come back to haunt you.

She's not quick enough to handle Shepard. Plus, as you find out if you can't persuade Wrex, Ashley always has your back.

I thought it was mentioned you could "email" your former companions and others from your quarters. I'd imagine you would communicate with whoever was your romance option.

Emails..would really feel...cheap. And be an easy cop-out.

Yeah, but email would be constant communication. Cameos of 2 seconds in the beginning/middle of the game would feel just as cheap. Maybe you could do vid-mail or whatever they called it in ME1, but I sincerely doubt Bioware is going to put in that much effort, when they can just bring them back in ME3. E-mail plus a cameo would be the best case scenario, I think.

Exactly. You needs to see them in some way. If you're going to just text they they could have just left them out of the game. It'd be the same as emailing nihilus or saren.

I remember it from an earlier discussion on what purpose the Commander's Quarters would serve.  I could be wrong, but its a pretty distinct memory.  Perhaps someone can find that?

Oh yeah, it's confirmed. But like alot of ME2 it seems like a lazy cop-out. After two years we get to send them emails?! Would it have been so hard for one meeting/conversation with your ME1 LI at then beginning of the game, and one before the last mission?

You will, there's a screenshot (it a scan) of Shepard meeting Liara. It's not just emails.

I don't know how people go from 'not a squadmate' to 'you only get to email them'. Gimme a break.

Wait where was it confirmed for that? Because We have seen pics of ME2 Liara.

She probably won't shoot you in the back. Your other love interest might be killed though, or maybe you'll have to talk her out of it.

my guess is a cat fight I mean multi romance options have never gotten along so I guess we are just in for one hell of a girl fight in Me3 when they find out what you've done lets just hope they don't gang up and kill shepard
