Contrary to popular belief, not everyone can solo gold, and some of us even suck at soloing silver. Image IPB

I'm pretty close to getting my BotB, but it's those pesky gold solos that will ultimately stand in my way. I have managed to do exactly 2 silver solos, using the juggy and the krolord, and a handful of bronzes which don't really count. My favourite class is Adepts, the Fury in particular, but I'm not sure I could solo gold with her.

Any advice on the best way to get that elusive Lone Wolf Banner would be most appreciated.  Image IPB

Stay moving if you use the fury.
Easy mode = kroguard, reegar, incendiary ammo vs. Geth.
But we hate crutch characters here

Krogan vanguard. No carnage. Reegar w/ incendiary. Geth. Highest cyclonic mod you have.
Congrats you're a lone wolf.

I used an AIU with a Claymore against Geth on Giant. 83 minutes, but I got it done. Kiting and patience is your friend.

Don't lower yourself to use cheese is my advice. You like the Fury, solo with her. Glavier/reapers. Watch some solos online and try to emulate that. Might take a lot more time, but you will learn in the process, as opposed as soloing with a Reegar Kroguard.

This.
I suck at solos but i got my first gold done with the Claymoar AIU. Though I picked Cerberus on London. I hate playing against the geth, I don't know what's easy playing against the geth, sneaky bombers, sneaky hunters, OP pyros and a stunlock fest that will shake you all night long.

I echo the KroGaurd vs Geth, but I find the Acolyte is even cheesier and easier to use than the Reegar.

I've solo'd with the Fury on Giant against reaper. I prefer the scorpion on her, but you may want to bring acolyte/hurricane combo if it's more comfortable.

Just do the circuit; LZ to small adjacent rooms, down the ladder, across to the control room, then down the ramp, behind the barriers, back to the LZ; this provides ample cover as you DC/throw for BEs. Don't fixate on bosses: prioritize the marauders & ravagers; once they're dead, banshees are simple. Let enemies come to you on your chosen ground. Keep your distance from them. If in doubt: run away - it's not a race, so don't rush to kill stuff. The map is large enough that you can use your teleport dodge to escape and hide easily enough.

Don't worry about failing; takes a few attempts. Enjoy.

TGI, harrier, incendiary ammo, vs any enemy. Easy as pie.

If you enjoy the fury then use her for your Gold solo. In my opinion the best map to solo with the fury would be Firebase White as it would allow you to kill a few enemies and then teleport to various levels backwards in the map. You can even use Geth Scanner to help you teleport out of situations and know where the enemy is coming from.

I believe this would probably be the best map for your Fury Gold solo due to what I mentioned previously and because it is also very good with objectives. Even if you get devices you can draw the enemy all the way to one side of the map and then go towards the objective. The reason this map is good for the fury is that it allows for some close quarter combat and also some cover and places to retreat to when you need to recharge.

Another note....a minor mental rule that I advise is that in a solo if you are fighting two enemies...thats fine (unless both enemies are bosses or possed collector troopers/captains/marauders) but the moment there is a third you need to leave. In other words kill one to two enemies at a time but if there is a third then kite away as it means you have been there too long and are about to get overwhelmed. The Fury is the kind of character that will make you feel invincible at times so its hard not to think you cant take on more than two enemies at once but it can be detrimental in a solo.

Good luck. I truly wish you the best in your efforts.

Most popular and /or easiest setup is:

Giant -- Reapers
Nice to circle around, if you get overwhelmed.

Batarian Soldier with Harrier for example (but the character is totally up to you, although IMHO the Fury is a little bit too squishy)

Cyclonic Mod IV
the rest depends on your Kit.

Be PATIENT, sometimes I tend to be reckless in game but that's absolutely deadly on gold (-solo).

And of course: GOOD LUCK;).

You can try Krogan Vanguard against Geth with Reegar.

One myth many perpetrate on BSN .. if you are using a Krogan Vanguard with reegar/incendiary vs geth (I believe this is the consensus easiest set-up) .. you do not need a cyclonic of any kind .. just use a shield booster and a power efficiency module (as like many players, you probably have a pile of these)

That works fine ...

Thanks for all the quick replies, really appreciate it Image IPB Think I'm going to try Invaderone's suggestion first. I'd feel kinda cheap cheesing it.

Abuse soft cover and keep moving so you don't get flanked/cornered. Preferably kill enemies fast.

edit: also, pick a map that is relatively big (but not too big) like Ghost, Giant or White, so you kite enemies around at will.

If you are familiar to the fury and can handle it well, stay to that character, go for a gun with a decent damage but not that heavy for your character that can use a lot of biotics.

So here are my suggestions :
Use a map where you can hide for a few secs and see them coming, like giant or white
Use some equipment to see them coming, the geth scanner, definitly a good pick.
As you go for biotic explosions, incendiary ammo, the highest level possible.
Go for some cyclonic amp on shields, the higher level you have.
Go for a balanced gun, not too heavy, not too soft on damages. Depends on how close you want ennemies to be on you, I mean everything can do as gun are concerned but I'll use a fast firing gun like a hurricane, I guess.

And the best advice possible, take your time, no rush, no stress. It's not a race, except the objective waves and go run for the extraction point so you can get in it in the few last seconds.
And keep shooting the ennemies that are low on health first because the respawning ennemies will be the same as the one you shot down. Keep the 'bosses' for the end. Play it hit and run on the waves they're in.

As ennemies go, it depends on the one you prefer to face, but I personaly hate being hugged on wave 11 while running to the extraction zone.

Meh, if all you want is the banner, cheese the f*** out of it. Reegar Kroguard Geth, Incendiary glitches, ultra skill grenade spam, lolflamer, take your pick, there's lots of delicious cheese in this game.

If you're actually interested in soloing regularly, then yeah, I'd advice you actually try to do it with your favorite class first. Don't be afraid to play it safe and patiently, since it's your first solo.

As for actual advice, watch videos, they are way more useful than anything written here.

I'd say do one "cheese" solo just to get accustomed to being in a gold game by yourself and doing the objectives, and once you do that do one solo with a favorite or your best character.

#1 bit of advice beyond all the builds. Play very conservatively and always think of where your escape route is. If you are not sure about a good escape route then move to another location before things get too hairy. For my solos on gold I used the gear that gives you extra medigel.

Go with what you know and summon a lot of patience - both to get through a match as well as the possibility that you may end up trying many times with many different kits and loadouts before you get it....

... and yes, the cheese. There really are many varieties of delicious cheese in this game. Watching a lot of other solos helps too (especially ones on your platform) - speaking of which, Zjarcal has a whole bunch of great solo videos. d_nought has a lot goodies too!

I'd like to echo these sentiments.
