I want my greywarden to live, plain and simple, but I don't want to sacrifice Alistair either. Which only leaves me with the options of A) having a old-god baby with Morrigan or B) recuiting and sacrificing Loghain. Both of these I don't want to do, but for different reasons. I don't want to have the demon baby becuase it's ****ing immoral and I am not giving Morrigan that kind of power and I don't want to recuit Loghain because I will lose Alistair as a friend and as a party memeber.

So, this is just me asking for your opinion on the matter, so I can continue on with my game with a clear course.

I chose the god baby because I'm a wicked person who loves the irony of Alistair sleeping with Morrigan in order to save our lives, and plus my character is pretty much besties with Morrigan so she trusts her to an extent.

As a player suggesting the best case scenario- probably recruit Loghain but marry off Alistair and Anora together, then sacrifice Loghain, depriving Morrigan. Loghain gets to die, Alistair gets to live and be king, and no freakazoid dragon child becomes Morri's playtoy. But I just roleplay it regardless, so it rarely turns out that way in my games (only once).

I'd take the ritual. You don't know how things will turn out; the Old God Baby isn't automatically going to be the Anti-Christ, with Morrigan as his dark master.

That child could be the saviour of all Thedas, or he could be just a normal little boy with a few unusual traits.

I suppose it comes down to whether you trust Morrigan. Okay she's fairly power-hungry, calculated and harsh, but I don't think she's actually evil. I don't think she's send Thedas to Hell just for the lolz. I give her the baby because I really want to see how that kid turned out. If it turns into a godly-powerful monster then whoops, my bad. :-D

Well the ritual itself isn't particularly sinister, you're actually helping an Old God be reborn free of it's darkspawn corruption. Maybe Morrigan is just being nice like that. =D

Ultimately the theme of the game is sacrifice. What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goals. I found the US ending very satisfying (and powerful) though I know it's not for everyone. I found the least impacting ending was the WC or Redemption endings. For the Warden, you get a nice funeral. For Loghain or Alistair they throw a freaking party and ignore that he died.

And giving Morrigan what she wants means a sacrifice from either your warden (if male) or Alistair's virginity--if unromanced--and innocence of knowing he's condemning his own child to never knowing his father, or Loghain (who looks like he'd rather be chewing glass than go through with it). In this instance, no one dies, but I feel a little innocence is being sacrificed.

I have more often than not given Morrigan her god child as it has no consequences in Origins beyond what you may think your character should think/feel about it, but Morrigan is always my warden's bestie and while I think she has her own plans, she does do it in part to spare the warden's life/the pain of losing a friend/brother warden.

My warden pretty much always does the ritual. He is in romance with morrigan and loves her so it doesnt feel that bad. Still its a sacrifice in a way because he does it knowing he may never again see his love or the child but he will do everything he can to try and find her again. (Fortunetely for him it pays of in the end)

I also believe that part of Morrigan´s reasons for the ritual are to save the warden. Depending on your character and choices, the warden will propably be the only friend morrigan will ever have or if romanced, the only person she actually loves. I imagine she doesnt want that one person to die after everything they´ve been through together.

My take on it is that the Warden is only responsible for the Warden's choices. If Alistair decides to go rogue on you, that's his decision, and you're not morally responsible for the fallout. If you decide to help Morrigan get her Old God Baby, on the other hand, you are. If your concern is "doing the right thing" and you think the Old God Baby is a wrong thing, you probably shouldn't help with that. (But that's two "ifs" there - so think about what you want and why.)

Demon baby! I love being able to pick "Your wildest dreams have come true...sex with Morrigan!" makes me lol so much!

However, I am also pro Alistair and I would hate to even want to recruit Loghain in the first place, though I unfortunately will have to for the achievement of all possible endings across all playthroughs. I haven't done it yet though, Alistair is so hard to give up. D:

This is probably the best scenario for everyone if you go along with recruiting Loghain.  You sacrifice your friendship (or romance) with Alistair, but at least he's not dead or a wandering drunk.

I personally prefer playing as female Wardens, anyway, and the thought of manipulating Alistair or Loghain into impregnating Morrigan (when both are clearly horrified/ opposed to the idea) never sat right with me.  It doesn't feel so bad with a romanced Alistair- at least he's not losing his virginity to her- but otherwise it seems cruel.  Morrigan's arguments for bedding Loghain to my female Warden repulsed me too ("You will order him to do so, and he will listen because he's indebted to you."). I don't have a problem with the ritual as a male Warden, though *shrugs*
