Other than that, I'd like all new folks.

Jerrik Dace and Varric would never be in the same game, as they share a voice actor (Brian Bloom).
Sten seems unlikely, as does Sebastian.
I'd like to see Shale again, though. And Morrigan, though perhaps just as an NPC and not a party member.

Otherwise, Varric. Which seems likely, so I'm happy.

We can see that Varric is going to be part of DA:I but I really hope its as a narrator or NPC rather than taking up a party spot again. Morrigan feels somewhat unlikely as a companion, she's more of a wildcard and will no doubt have a big role to play, something bigger than just being a follower I hope.
I would love to see cameo appearances from previous companions, a glimpse at how they're getting on following the events of the previous game - where possible given the change of story location. I loved seeing Alistair in DA:2 and also Wynne in DA:A.
Previous characters who weren't playable would be fine for companions - the likes of Cullen and Cassandra whose roles and personalities haven't been explored in any great depths and could be interesting to see more of in the new story.
Oh and please no Dog companion taking up roster space.....

Possibly Shale
Cassandra
Possibly Varric
Aside from that I'm good with all new characters.

Guest appearances from Zevran, Isabela, Fenris and Shale would also make me a very happy camper too

I really don't want any previous companions as companions again. We've played them once, it feels like repeating ground that's already been covered when we should be pushing on with the story and getting new blood.

I'm hoping they do dog the way they did in DA2 (Just not having him be DLC just right off the bat) where you could summon him/her. Because I love the idea of it I just never got to use him in Origins because well there where better people to use:crying:.

Instead of a summon, I'd rather just give the main character a "pet" slot. He's not a full companion in a lot of respects anyway, so it's not that hard to balance.

From the leaked survey, there was a Tevinter Magister companion that was called Dorian, he wanted to change his homeland somehow. He would be a nice addition.
Morrigan may or may not be a companion, and I would love to have her as a companion.
Elven Rogue/Archer would be welcome to my team, along with Varric.
A Tal vashoth, they teased this so much in DA 2 with the one Qunari, and the Sareebas, both of which I wanted them to join me!

I used a DAO mod to produce exactly that. So I got a full party of 4, plus the dog.Sopa de Gato wrote...

But the summon is really dumb. Unless he's a spirit hound, how could we possibly explain that in-setting?
Also, having him be inifinitely re-summonable (even with the cooldown) allowed for some very silly kiting tactics. I killed Corypeus's demons using only the dog (with the rest of the party doing nothing but running away).

Case in point. I really hated how they changed Anders for DA2. I loved the old Awakening Anders. I don't wanna see the old characters I loved redesigned for the sake of a new story.
