Since it's a new lead character, new game, it would be nice for them not to rehash MEE3 and bring back old squad as new team mates, just older..
I think it would be interesting ot have some of the minor characters form previous games, some characters that were assisted and now try to save the world themselves would be the best way to pull at my heart strings

I wish we will be able to have these character as companions :

- Morrigan
- Leliana (if possible)
- Hawke (Bethany or our character from DAII)
- Evangeline de Brassard
- Rhys (who maybe will sometime speak with Cole or even meet him again)
- Cassandra

Ps. i know its not possible to have or meet our Hero of Fereldan but hope we will be able to hear something about her/him from people or/and Morrigan/Leliana

 I want all new Companions. 

A few who won't fawn at my every word would be nice as well. Heck, give me just one that regardless of how much sweet talk or side boob I flash 'em will still clash with my character, and only remain because he/she believes in whatever the quest we'll be undertaking to be more important than whether he/she likes me. 

Personally, I find it boring when all my Companions are basically members of the Cult of Me.

I'd prefer new companions entirely, with past companions simply making cameos. If I had to choose from previous party members, though, I wouldn't mind Morrigan or Leliana. I didn't really like any of the DA2 companions.

As for characters that have yet to be companions, I'd be pleased with Cullen and/or Cassandra.

 i think there'ss be about 6 default characters, like in DAII, seeing as bioware mentioned somewhere that they'll be doing the every type of class thing again (warrior with sword/shield, warrior with broadsword, rogue with bow, rogue with dual weapons, ....). At least i think they hinted at it, anyway.

That said, I don't need many returnign characters. I would love for morrigan and isabella to return, and maybe varric. But other than that, They can all be NPC'd.

I'd like to run with Varric and Sten again but otherwise I've already had as much of the other characters as I want, especially Leliana.

I love Sten...He was a great character but it's highly unlikely to have him as a companion this time around. I would also love to see Cullen as a LI. Other then that I would prefer all new companions.

Hmm. I don't think I'd mind having one character from the past games join my party, but honestly I'd prefer all new members. I wouldn't mind temporarily fighting along side old comrades though ; I think that would be cool.

Also, I would kind of like to see party-banter cut-scenes after seeing this! (:
