Calling it now Leia is a Sith Lord
Naw, she's not even a padawan by Return of the Jedi, lol. No way she could even be a Sith acolyte let alone a Sith Lord. Nope.
Now, Luke....... Yeah. Easily.

lol, true story. But in all seriousness, something is up with Luke. Hamill has been overly relaxed about it, as if he knows there will be a big reveal about Luke.
Also, it doesn't make sense why Luke would NOT re-establish the Jedi Order after ROTJ, he was fully committed to being a Jedi without calms or hesitation. He turned down the Emperor face to face and declared, "I am a Jedi", Luke defeated the Sith as only a fully trained Jedi could.
And yet...... 30 years have passed and no Jedi order or Apprentices of any kind for Luke........
Naw, somethings up.
Maybe Ren was Luke's nephew and first apprentice and something went terrible wrong in his training and Ren fell to the Dark Side and has vowed to destroy the Jedi and the Skywalker lineage (with exception to himself). But I have no doubt that Ren is a direct relative and lineage of Anakin Skywalker, either Leia and Han's kid, or Luke's. He's one or the other. I think he's Han's and Leia's son.

You are looking for in universe reasons, while if true this is most likely because they are doing an OT rehearsal and don't want to move very far from the status quo back then.
Sigh, why kill the EU to adapt one of its worse parts?

Luke went hermit for 30 years and the only thing he did was to compose a very long chant about the force.

Nah he dose TV interviews about the Deathstar where he just points to himself and says "Yeah i'm that guy." and he keeps popping up at Conventions and reunions.

don't know why, almost bugs me as much as the "han shot first" thing.

I also didn't like the idea that one could sort of walk the line between the light and dark sides of the Force or switch back and forth repeatedly. That doesn't belong in canon either. There shouldn't be any Gray Jedi or Gray Sith, at least as far as force alignment goes. You're either light or dark and going dark should in almost all cases, dominate one's destiny.
Yeah, but the whole point of Jedi was that Vader could be redeemed from going full dark side, while Luke often found himself veering close to falling to it in Empire and Jedi, so force-alignment is a fluid and continuously changing thing. The whole reason the Jedi were as strict as they were in the rules was to prevent people from veering too far into what they saw as the "wrong" direction.
Revan was never really characterised in terms of good and bad, he was always presented as being a well-intentioned extremist no matter what his goals and alignment was, being the type of person who when push came to shove, would put his own morality aside in terms of the "greater good" as he percieved it. It's the entire reason he defied the Jedi's neutrality and embarked on the Mandalorian Wars after all?
Sure, his characterisation in TOR was a little wonky, but I always saw it as the result of 300 years of the Emperor whispering in his ear and influencing his actions, which is why he planned to commit full genocide on the Sith Empire, since "Kill 'Em All" is Vitiate's entire gameplan.
It also fits with how SOR was all about the duality of his nature and how the part of him that had an obsession with stopping the Emperor at all costs was at odds with the part of him who wanted to just let go of his responsibilities?
While some writers made him come across as a Mary Sue, I'd say that Revan is actually a very realistic character in terms of how someone would react under the constant stress and hardship he endured, the several wars and mind-screws he went through and how a character who's been both Jedi and Sith might end up as neither at the end of the day, with an alignment that cannot exactly be defined by any one side or another?
Besides, getting rid of Grey Jedi (and Light Side Sith) means we also lose characters like Jolee Bindo and Ashara Zavros, who's own interpretation and reconciling of both sides are part of their character arcs (or backstory), which makes them highly interesting characters in their own right?

Han shot first... (and the sheer size of his cojones exerted such a gravitational force that it caused his shot to go back in time, orbit back around and hit the wall behind in, making it look like Greedo had fired.)
True story.
