Does the training bot count? If so then yes.
Vader/Anakin could do this way back during the Clone wars, he just didn't know it
I think its more to be intimidating. he could just fix his hand.

I imagine another Sith or Jedi could have done it. I mean some Jedi and Sith choose to manipulate the force to regulate the beam of their lightsaber. And if we take the SWTOR trailers as canon Satele Shan was able to hold off Malgus's saber with her bare hands using the force. If you have quick enough reflexes it could be possible to deflect a bolt or two with just the force.I think its more to be intimidating. he could just fix his hand.
that was dumb. Take away the potency of the laser-sword & you make duels more or less meaninglessI imagine another Sith or Jedi could have done it. How so? The skill required to do such a thing would probably be immense. Considering she was a Master and he a Sithlord they were both pretty evenly matched. That and she was struggling the whole time to maintain it. I imagine it would have taken a lot out of her, so if the battle were to have continued I doubt she would have been able to preform something of that level again.
Still isn't as cheap as lightning.
An analogy would be a Superman film with no Kryptonite. He would be invulnerable, and the story would go nowhere fast...
Oh wait
Lightsabers are a relatively young tool to Jedi and Dark Jedi/Sith.....
I don't care if it isn't "canon" anymore. It is to me, Disney can suck my saber.
OMG cant wait to see how they handle the original cast.
I wish he would have started it out to where Episode 2 was Episode 1 and then we could have had a whole movie about the Clone Wars and Anakin becoming Vader toward the end. Then we could have an Episode 3 where Vader gets screwed up and comes back in the suit and finished off the Jedi. My main problem with Episode 1 was that it was an Anakin Skywalker origin story and I felt like I didn't need to know where Anakin came from. Episode 1 also felt like a waste because it didn't cover the Clone Wars which was something that we heard about briefly in IV.
3 was my favorite when I was younger even though some of the things about it bothered me (I loved all of the action). As I got older I came to appreciate Empire more because of how well written it was. You know what I think the main difference between the OT and PT is? The PT was a lot more action and the OT was a lot more talking, but the action in the OT always was the huge payoff while in the PT it wasn't.
Yeah, I always thought about how the PT could have worked better. And indeed, Phantom Menace is...simply a rather big waste of time. Instead, startiing right there in Epsiode One with the Clone Wars would have been better, instead of needing TWO movie-length for it to finally break out... And in fact changing the nature of the Clone Wars a bit might have been better as well.
I always liked how Palpatine played both sides. But I hated that this war felt so...so boring. It simply had no impact on neither me nor the people in this galaxy. Or at least we never learned about it much. All over the galaxy faceless de-humanized clones fought against faceless roger-roger-droids. I assume in most cantinas the robo-football-league interested the poeple more than this war... ![]()
So ... start the war at teh end of Epsiode One. Have teh secessionists use the (more sinister) clones as a means to counter the vast (yet highly inflexible) droid-army of the republic (makes sense because a republic does not want their voters to die in wars, so use droids!) ... and the second movie? Show us how the clones win. How they wipe the floor with those droids everywhere ... and Chancellor Palpatine eventually declares a galaxy-wide draft (Stormtroopers are born)...
And in the third one...we learn that together with conscriptin and aoldier-training came some rather nasty indoctrination...the coup-d'etat follows. And all the while, from Ep. 1 with an adolescent young Anakin in his late teens up to a more mature one we see how anakin's high ideals are jsut as corrupted over time (and please, no cheesy love-story/try to save her from death by killing children-BS...)
Yeah, fan-fiction! Isn't it great that we have the I-Net so I can pester you all with that? ![]()

It would have also been better if Anakin had fallen in love with a female Jedi, it would have given him a whole other reason to resent the Jedi Order and leave them behind (especially if his secret wife got exiled when the council discovered she was pregnant).

Something like this may still occur in ep. 7

I'm doubtful that we'll see a Council in 7, because they already have a lot to fit into the movie. I'm just going to go by the two trailers: They're going to have to deal with Jaku and Finn defecting/going rogue, someone recovering Vader's mask, Kylo Ren using the Force, Tie Fighters chasing the Falcon, Han and Chewie recovering the Falcon, Anakin's/Luke's Lightsaber being passed on to somebody, some sort of battle going on in a snowy planet, A meeting/conference of some sort between The First Order, introducing Finn, Rey, Poe and any other newcomers. This isn't even mentioning things from the concept art like the pirate den or the leaked things I've read that were supported by the second trailer.
They're going to have to fit so much into the film and I just don't see them having the time to fit in a New Jedi Order. I think that Episode 9 will have a New Jedi Order form at the end if we ever see one in this trilogy.
You forgot old yet still badass Boba Fett.
