I think Disney should be throwing themselves at Joss Whedon, Peter Jackson, David Fincher, Riley Scott, Terry Gilliam and Christophen Nolan to helm Star Wars movies. And if Disney is out of their minds crazy then they go after Tim Burton, Michael Bay, James Cameron, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas.

Peter Jackson, .
After the atrocity of the Hobbit trilogy? We don't need stale characters and Rube Goldberg fight scenes IMO. A Chris Nolan SW could be cool. And honestly I think a Tim Burton movie would be as well, if no less zany and fun. "This is Tatooine, everybody make a scream. I am the one, the Sarlaac pit. Teeth grown sharp and and tongues glow red!"

It would be hard to imagine Disney hiring Nolan to direct a SW movie. Not that wouldn't be awesomesacue of course

Nolan Star Wars: " Ah Lord Sidious. Have you come to die with your station?"
" You think the force is your ally? But you merely adopted the force; I was born in it, moulded by it."
Sounds like something a Sith would say

I'll defend my previous statement by saying that after the "Phantom Dennis the Menace" pod racing and just assuming these guys would stay within the Star Wars narrative how bad could it be?

Hrm, I can see it. A Mexican stand-off at the end a la True Romance, Reservoir Dogs etc., but because it's force powers instead of guns, everyone is just pointing/waving at each other ridiculously.

Why would someone give another person a weapon whilst the business end is pointing towards them?
Especially if it's the equivalent of a sword. If you point a sword at a person, then it's a hostile gesture. And this particular blade being currently inactive doesn't change that, you don't point guns with their safety on at anything you don't want to shoot either.
People simply. Do not point. The business end of a weapon. At a person without hostile intent. EVER!
You either present them the weapon in a way that wouldn't harm anyone, or if you want to be very respectful (or submissive depending on the interpretation), you present a weapon with the business end pointing at you, expressing your trust (or submission) by giving the other person the tool and opportunity to potentionally harm you.

Couldn't the person on the left be handing it to the person on the right?
Also, are those two women? I'm not sure where the pic came from. Is it a publicity still?

Huh, I honestly hadn't considered that perspective. I think I need sleep if I'm missing such obvious stuff.

The picture came from the second trailer.
I believe that is Leia handing the lightsaber to Rey. Also, that is Anakin's/Luke's lightsaber, the one lost on Cloud City.

First: I kinda like your name ...
Second: The Hobbit trilogy was ... okay-ish but *sigh* why three movies? And part 3 had so many redundant scenes like the video-game-fighting of Legolas on that crumbling tower, I almost fell asleep. Too much, too over the top...however, I could watch every scene with Smaug over and over again...Jackson is a great film-maker (Braindead? The Frighteners!), but the Hobbit should have always been two movies, not more...
Third: Nolan? Oh no, the one that made a trilogy about Batman without ...anything in it what made Batman actually cool? I mean, the crazyness, the gothic atmosphere, the sheer insanity not only of the characters, but also how they expressed themselves in everything they did!? Hell, Nolan had the Joker! And managed to make him scary, yeah, but not the least fun?! Sorry Heath, but..."Luke Hamill Skywalker" is still the best Joker, followed by Mr. Jack N.
Sorry all Nolanites, you may burn me on the stake .. but really, the best Batman-Trilogy/series in recent years was made by Rocksteady Studios, not Nolan, and he should stay away from everything that needs to be fun, lighthearted yet still be dark and thrilling, we have better people to pull that mix off
Maybe Nolan could make a "realistic" version of Star Wars? Guess it would look like Interstellar, every movie would be 3 hours long to fill it all up with mostly exposition-dialogue, and he probably would get rid of The Force, maybe replace it with something more scientific, Mass Effect style ? ^^ ![]()
And now, let'S get the hell outta here, I can already feel the wrath!

"No, No, No, No, let me ask you a question. When you came pulling in here with your landspeeder, did you notice a sign in front of my moisture farm that said "Dead Jawa Storage?"
"No, I didn't."
"You know why you didn't see that sign?"
"Why?"
"Cause it ain't there, 'cause storing dead Jawas a'int my fracking business, that's why!"

First: Kinda like your name too. And thanks.
Second: Yeah I guess I exaggerated on PJ. He is a good filmmaker. Definitely needed to be two movies at most. Just as a book fan and LOTR-movie fan. I was supremely disappointed. I'm biased what can I say? ![]()
Third: I get it. I liked the Dark Knight Trilogy and dis-liked them for the same reasons. But it's because he can be realistic and dark that'd make him a good fit I think. Put him behind a Sith-focused SW or hell even the Boba Fett movie, and maybe the "I want a mature and adult" SW crowd could be appeased. I just like his style.

Am I the only one that thinks Anakin/Vader's sabers are the most cumbersome and uncomfortable? I mean looks at Obi-Wan's from TPM

Sleek down to the pommel. And his one in EP. 3 (Which didn't Luke model his after that one in RToJ?) is good too. The bottom half of Anakin's looks almost painful to me.
