And in other news, ILM opens up a new visual effects office to work on Episode VII "and other projects both inside and outside the Disney family."

More importantly, there's apparently an image of a meeting between the people working on Episode VII with concept art the back. One appears to show the Millenium Falcon while the other shows a canyon.

Rumor: Girls Adam Driver To Play Episode VII's Main Villain
There's a speculation that Darth Plagueis will be the main villain of Star Wars Episode VII and I read one person's suggestion that maybe Adam Driver could be playing him in the movie.

Darth Plagueis is long dead... his murder was a rite of passage for Palpatine. So... no. Also, I GUARANTEE if Driver does indeed play a villian, he will be human (or nearly human/humaniod). A Muun villain as more than a supporting character is unlikely IMHO.
I say Tom Hardy as Nom Anor.. Or Michelle Fairley as Mara Jade... Or Ralph Finnes as Corran Horn

^ British actors rarely disappoint

Actors from the UK are usually some of the best actors on Star Wars. Just look at Tarkin and Palps.

And Terrence Stamp, Alec Guinness, Michael Pennigton, Kenneth Colley, Caroline Blakiston, Jeremy Bulloch, Peter Mayhew...

According to Variety, the producers of Star Wars Episode VII have narrowed down the group of actors vying for the starring role to approximately five names. These names are Ed Speelers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas, and Ray Fisher. "Exact details of the character are vague," writes Variety's Justin Kroll, "but the part is believed to be a Jedi apprentice." No surprise there, as the film that launches a new era of Star Wars is widely expected to introduce a new generation of Jedi Knights.
Variety's sources are telling the publication that the delay in casting this vital role "has to do [with] whether execs and creatives want someone of a different ethnicity from the previous Caucasian leads."
Production on Episode VII is expected to begin in a few short months at Pinewood Studios in London, England. Click here to read the Variety report.

I won't be surprised if it's gonna get delayed again. IF it actually starts shooting in May, it's gonna be only a year left for post-production. Can it be done in a year with such CGI-heavy movie as this will obviously be?

We are free to speculate for the near future...
Also; there may be (please don't make it suck) scenes on Korriban/Moraban in which a new Sith master is revealed.

After the rewrite it seems like Han, Luke & Leia will be mains at least for Ep 7, with new young female & male leads introduced to take over in further episodes

I'm not sure I like the idea of the old cast returning in major roles. The original Star Wars films are my favorites, but I'm not sure having a bunch of actors who are well past their prime as your leads in the new film is a good idea.

Think about it. If (very big IF) Abrams has any clue about how to avoid disaster, the old actors WON'T be the leads. They will have fairly big roles in ep. 7 in order to INTRODUCE the next gen of characters. Mark my words: Ford, Hamill and Fisher will have a handful of lines and be more or less glorified cameos in ep. 8 & 9.

Glorified cameos may have been the reason the script was rewritten. I think all 3 was not happy to get just cameos. I'm expecting rather big roles for them at least in first Ep in new trilogy

Make-up and CGI departement will make them look like fit 50s. And their names and recognizable-faces will be a big marketing bonus to draw in older audiences

I still can't believe this is being made. I'm very disappointed, but I understand the rationale (money).

Don't waste your time in this thread then. Let us enjoy our "crap" which is anything that doesn't look or feel like Episode V (in the eyes of the old school Star Wars fans).
