Am I the only one that thinks Anakin/Vader's sabers are the most cumbersome and uncomfortable? I mean looks at Obi-Wan's from TPM

DSC_2564-copy.jpg

Sleek down to the pommel. And his one in EP. 3 (Which didn't Luke model his after that one in RToJ?) is good too. The bottom half of Anakin's looks almost painful to me.

Annoyance leads to the dark side.

It's mostly because the weapon used my Vader was an old camera flash handle, most of the others were designed with machined parts for the purpose of a laser-sword.

I'm talking about the the bottom grip and the cell box on the side more specifically. It just doesn't look very ergonomic. Though I guess it fits considering the personality of the character.

Well that, and he's more rash and emotional. Anakin was always a "Shoot first, ask questions later" personality. It makes sense that his weapon would mirror his style. And I guess he held the bottom with his robot hand so it probably didn't feel weird but still. I like a much simpler, sleek style.

That said Maris Brood's shotos were kick ass in TFU. We need to see more sabers like that. (Kylo or whoever's saber still looks bad though.)

The EU did go way off the rails in terms of lightsaber design and color, but i won't go any farther into the details. Also KotOR's short sabers are always funny.

Seems reasonable that the blade could be adjusted

I kind of liked the short sabers, since if dual wielded with a longer one it kind of mimics a real world fighting style.

I wanted to do a KotOR 2 Jedi Master or Sith Lord focused only on casting powers and using only short sabers loaded with buffs while avoiding using them for combat completely, but every time i forgot and went full combat builds.

Well, Obi and Anakin were both Soresu tacticians, with Anakin specializing in Form V Shien and Djem So. But the Jedi of Obi Wan and Anakins Era's were almost all specialized in bolt deflection and not dueling. So their sabers were more indicative of that type of two handed laser deflection. But if you look at someone say Mace Windu's or Malgus or Lord Hord's lightsabers they were more sleek and clearly a weapon of a duelist.

But Anakin being arguably one of the most skilled duelists of his time, even if it was in his raw ability to pick up and learn so fast. You'd think his saber you'd be geared to a more sleek design. Considering though, that he fights with anger, strength, and power. Over a more fluid and tactful approach, I guess it would make sense his weapon be a reflection of that.

It's more comfortable than it looks.

Just don't use the bottom as your primary grip, grip it around where the switch is (Around, not directly where it is, that'd be stupid)

Or wear gloves.

I guess the bottom half would be used more so for leverage rather than to hold like the top. So having a complete solid grip may not be entirely needed. But still the box on the side? Hardly any room for your fingers.

And yes, I know I have stubby fingers, it sucks.

Well okay then. I have big hands and fingers so to me it just looks like it'd still be cramped.

Only problem is the way it's weighted.

But that has more to do with the way Force FX made the thing.
