Hey while were on the subject. Has anyone checked out The Custom Saber shop? I'm thinking of building my own saber once I get enough fun cash. It's pretty cool. And they have they're own builder that has all the parts in a model so you can get an idea of what it'll look like when you assemble it.

I want to get an official replica of Darth Vader's lightsaber someday. It's $120 right now. It'll go great with a life-size version of the Sith Lord himself.

I'm thinking about making a Sith themed duelist set. A regular length blade but a shorter grip, with a shoto to pair it with. They have those "dueling" blades which are thicker, but I'm just gonna get mine for show. 
 

Though I like the pointed ends better than the traditional rounded.

I liked the curved handle. Dooku's saber was cool, it had class.

I am likely going to start with a "weathered" basic sith saber, red or purple dueling blade. I want it to be durable. My sons bought me the Vader replica saber, which is cool, but not durable.

Raisen' them kids right! The FX sabers are definitely meant for show. And while I don't intend on using mine for actual dueling I think I might get a slightly thicker blade ( but still not the "dueling" one) just in case it falls or maybe a little cousin wants to go for a joy filled lamp slicing.

What do you mean? If you use CSS you can make it as long as you want. They make connectors.

I don't know if it was made with CSS but here is a long hilt saber I found on the web.

I also think I've seen "double hilt" ( not to be confused with a double blade) variant of some sabers.
