That's actually in Traitor, which is one of the reasons I love it so much.
Ah... yes. Nicely done

It just doesn't do it for me IDK why. GHW era, OR, Clone Wars era, GECW but after that I get super picky lol. I like Rogue and Wraith Squadron stuff though. In fact I just read X-Wing: Mercy Kill a few months ago
the NJO/Vong invasion books were my favs

Spoiler
I always liked the old republic EU the most of them all. Both the Jedi and the Sith were at their peak. Loved the cold war between the Republic and the Empire too

That's why I love the Old Republic stuff so much. It was the golden age of Jedi/Sith carnage.
And I love the politics of the Clone Wars though I wish the movie(s), hand full of comics and books went into it more. The show did a little bit which was always welcome IMO.

Most of the current authors are kinda meh to me. Kemp and Miller are all right. Fry's pretty good, but I'm not exactly the target audience for his YA stuff (which is all he's published in New Canon so far...waiting on some of those reference books though). Luceno's kind of erratic; his EU stuff was generally good but I couldn't really care much about Tarkin. Combined with my general dissatisfaction over The Old Republic and my ambivalence about Battlefront as revealed thus far and I'm kind of hoping that TFA is good, because if it isn't, I might be dropping out of the fandom for awhile.
This post reflects my thoughts exactlyTM
*shrug* Doesn't exist anymore anyway.
I found that most of my favorite stories went by author, rather than by the era that they were in. So I loved Matt Stover, Tim Zahn, Aaron Allston (RIP), and Brian Daley (RIP) stories regardless of where they actually fit.

I go by author sometimes too. Just I'm more apt to read it if it takes place in an era I'm interested in.
Also.....Don't let The Mouse bully you into thinking it doesn't exist!

Except by Luke... who's only action in canon now involves macking with his sister.

That's pretty much when and why I gave up on the post-ROTJ books. He was one of my favorite characters, and then not only does he just turn to complete sh*t before getting killed, but of course he also has to take a bunch of characters down with him. ![]()
If they wanted twin vs twin THAT bad, it should've been Jaina, the far less interesting Solo who went dark.

"Heir to the Empire" reinvigorated my love to Star Wars, I still know where my parents bought the book in the supermarket. And how painful it was until the new books were translated and released here. Thrawn, Mara Jade, Pellaeon, the only reasons I shed a little tear the EU is gone. But the rest? I read and ejoyed some of the X-Wing-Books, mostly because they had no Jedis in them. But the whole "Jedi Academy"-stuff and others didn't really made me excited...
I have a funny feeling we may still see a "Thrawn-esque" character in ep. 7...
wouldn't mind seeing so more female jedi in the movie honestly.
If any.
