"Heir to the Empire" reinvigorated my love to Star Wars,  I still know where my parents bought the book in the supermarket. And how painful it was until the new books were translated and released here. Thrawn, Mara Jade, Pellaeon, the only reasons I shed a little tear the EU is gone. But the rest? I read and ejoyed some of the X-Wing-Books, mostly because they had no Jedis in them. But the whole "Jedi Academy"-stuff and others didn't really made me excited...

The Thrawn Trilogy would still be my pick as the best of the EU books.

Speaking of cool characters introduced by Timothy Zahn...the Noghri also deserve a mention.

It's not the best he's ever written, but one of my favorite Zahn books was Allegiance. Really interesting I thought since it centers around 5 stormtroopers and takes place between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Also Mara is pretty cool in it too. It's her early career as the Emperor's Hand I believe cause she's only about 19 or 20 in it. I recommend it and you can probably pick it up for like 10 bucks now.

At least Clone Wars was awesome. My only complaint is the lack of Cad Bane in every episode.

Cad is love, Cad is life.

Cad was ****** awesomesacue!! Boba Fett got nothing on him!

I remember when I had to make a poster of the book Star Wars: Vector Prime as a class project and I called it Episode VII: The Yuuzhan Vong. Lol.

Nom Anor was a tool. Some of the Vong characters were pretty cool, however

No, scout ships were travelling around the galaxy at the time of the clone wars. I don't remember the exact details, but I believe that Obi-Wan and Anakin had made contact with them or their world Zonama Seekot (can't remember and my spelling might be off). Canderous Ordo from Knights of the Old Republic also mentioned having ran into a Yuzhaan Vong scout ship, so even before the movies they had scouts around in the galaxy.

Interesting. I'm not as learned in Yuzhaan Vong lore as others are.

Cad Bane fun fact: Cad Bane is blue and his eyes are red. He also enjoys large hats.

They had also captured a jedi knight Vegeres (?), and Obi-Wan and Anakin investigated her disappearance. One of the reasons that Palpatine kept the Imperial Navy active after the Clone Wars was to defend against an attack from the Yuuzhan Vong, but that's no longer canon (which is probably a good thing considering that the entire war had a ton of silliness/stupidity in it).

Yeah what little I have read, some of it gets pretty silly.

I have a funny feeling we may still see a "Thrawn-esque" character in ep. 7...

As I am still not totally sold that Kylo Ren is the prime or only real antagonist, yeah, I hope they'll have a genius running the rest of the Empire, masterminding everything, and maybe, he isn't even a force-user?! That alone would be cool, The Force may Awaken, but I hope we get some cool non-force-users...

wouldn't mind seeing so more female jedi in the movie honestly.

If any.

The female-quota is already higher in Ep 7 than the whole trilogy combined! (minor exaggeration). And if Daiys Ridley is hopefully the main hero/jedi of the trilogy? I would be happy already. And finally a female badguy? How long did it take for this in Star Wars (cinema)?

I am actually a bit more concerned about why no aliens? So far, only Chewie is a non-human there. Would be cool if, maybe in Ep8 or so, we'll get a non-human member added to the main cast of heroes. Or villains. I vote for female Twi'Lek Jedi, kaming out with Isaac's pilot-char!

How is Rebels? The art style is off-putting to me compared to CW. So I never really checked it out.

I saw a promo-ad for this, as the season one starts on Disney-channel over here and...*sigh* ... the main-hero, that youngster-kid? He is wielding some kind of "laser-slingshot", like he is Darth Bart Simpson of the future...I kinda avoided watching it, I also wish the graphic-style would be a little different

Ugh, that sounds tacky AF. A slingshot? The laser-bows the Night Sisters use were cool. They should have done something like that.

My only complaint was the black-bladed vibro-blade-wielding-super-Mandos

... oh & Dark Ahsoka was pretty dumb

<_<

I thought they came pretty close to jumping the shark with that one arc where Anakin visits that one dimension with the force gods.

Yeah, Rebels is terribad. I can be harsh and super critical at times I admit that, but Rebels just plain sucks. The protagonist is annoying and totally forgettable.

And I had just be able to pushed that episode out of my mind.

That was almost a midichlorian level flub. I honestly think they need to quit trying to explain the force. Just let it be mysterious.

That episode was ridiculous. I forgot that nonsense is still technically canon. This is why I think pretending like the entire prequel trilogy never happened is just best for everyone.

No. It's really not. The prequel trilogy was the worst thing since the collapse of Yugoslavia.

There is ongoing talks of a reboot of Episodes 1, 2, and 3. Kathleen Kennedy (person in charge of LucasFilm) is leading the vanguard for this to happen. The idea is to shoot alongside and release it with the ongoing films.

I'll take this as sarcasm.
