@Vroom: You clearly got us stumped
Manaroo: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Manaroo
Boba Fett served as best man at Dengar and Manaroo's wedding.
Edit: I would highly recommend reading The Mandalorian Armor, Slave Ship, and Hard Merchandise. The series followed Boba Fett as he escaped the Sarlaac pit and dealt with him recovering Slave I and convincing the galaxy that he had survived. He also single-handedly manages to pilot a Star Destroyer which was really badass (the book mentioned that it should have took 5 people or some such to be able to pilot one). They are among the best of the best in terms of Star Wars novels.

What was the main reason Yoda went into self-imposed exile on Dagobah? Why that planet?
Because he had failed as a Jedi and wanted to rethink how flawed the order had been and so that he could observe the state of the galaxy though the Force and potentially train Luke or Leia. He hid there because the strong dark side signature of the cave masked his strong presence from Vader, The Emperor and the Inquisitors.

Because he, an 800-year old Jedi, failed to kill the Greatest Of All Time Emperor Sheev Palpatine.
He went there to avoid Order 66 since the planet is an entire swamp and to wait for the arrival of one of the Skywalker children.
EDIT: Vroom ninja'd me as I was typing.

Wait a moment, how can a cave have a dark side signature, are the moss, lichen and treebark supposed to have fallen to the dark side or something?
Doesn't the whole idea of the cave being strong in the dark side go a long way to proving that the Force is a pseudo-mystical power that exists in the Star Wars universe, rather than something conjured up by a bunch of midichlorians being switched to good or evil?
Cause the only other explanation is that someone strong in the dark side visited the cave, somehow magnetised the midichlorians there and left an echo of themself there, which can cause freaky hallucinations?
I suppose that could work, but honestly, how lame is it that black magic is the better handwave? It's supposed to be fantasy in space, right?

Or did somoene strong in the dark side magnetise the midichlorians in that cave and leave an echo of themself there? I suppose that could also work, but honestly, how lame is it that most people would probably prefer the handwave that black magic is at work? It's supposed to be fantasy in space, after all?
A very powerful dark jedi was killed in that cave years ago and left his dark side energy in the cave. The idea of leaving powerful darkside signatures wasn't a one time thing either as it was also part of the plot for Jedi Knight:Jedi Academy and also something you could have your companions gather on Dxun in Kotor 2.

Yes, but it's always been that way even with the idea of midichlorians. Also midichlorians aren't switched to "good" or "evil". They're just, amplifiers in a sense. Higher midichlorian count = stronger force sensitivity.
Weather or not the force is used for "good" or "evil" is up to the individual. Midichlorians don't do anything on that front.

The Force does seem to have a conciousness though, at least in Legends. If I recall correctly the Force cut the Yuzhaan Vong off from it and it created Anakin Skywalker in retaliation for Darth Plagueis using it to try to create a powerful Force wielding being.

Yes, and both the light and dark sides influence those who are sensitive. But midichlorians don't. They're just receptors.

While that makes sense, it doesn't explain it now, since that's all been chucked out from canon along with the rest of the EU?
(Another reason why the EU should have remained intact, at least pre-BBY)

I know they're not good or evil, but my point was why is a cave generating a strong dark side presence in terms of midichlorians? What's generating it because the cave itself is clearly not alive, nor does it have a will of it's own?
Unless it's massively channelling the inner darkness of both Luke or Yoda, then it having such a dark presence makes little to no sense whatsoever?

Midichlorians are inside every living thing. All the plants and animals that are in it have midichlorians. The Force is infinite. And when the Dark Jedi was killed his entire force essence tainted the cave. Because such a powerful being in the dark side died there. The dark side of the force was drawn to it. Hence the dark side presence.
As far as channeling the darkness of Luke. In a way it does. When he goes into the cave to look for answers, the Dark Side of the force channels his fear and anger. He actually dips into the dark side while he's there and that's when he sees the vision of himself as Vader. He saw what would become of himself if he fell to it's influence.

I get all of that, but what I meant was, what does it mean now that this backstory has been removed from the EU? I don't recall Yoda mentioning the Dark Jedi corrupting the cave in TESB, so does it still count as canon?
Or should I just not question it and enjoy the 'splosions? ![]()

It means that it's just a mysterious dark cave. That Luke had a vision of what he would become if he fell to the DS.

It's a wound. It's not the cave that's evil. It's that the person who was there was so twisted by darkness that the place itself was left effectively cursed.
