Because the green is the one he made himself.

The blue one was old Vader's lightsaber.

This makes absolutely no sense. It contradicts not only the EU, but also previous movies.

Not only Anakin's lightsaber was still blue after he turned Sith, Luke used Anakin's old blue lightsaber, and in Episode 6 he made his own, which was green. If green was his "alignment" color, old Vader's saber should change color to green when Luke took it from Obi-Wan.

Anakin also uses a green saber in second part of Attack of the Clones, instead of his usual blue one.

Obi-Wan defeats Darth Maul with Qui-Gon's green saber.

Anakin kills Darth Tyrannus (Dooku) with both Sith's crimson saber and his own, blue.

Is there a source on this?

Just wait for the Disney edits. And you all thought that you hated Lucas's edits :P

This can always just mean that she changed the crystal.

At least I'm hoping it does, because the other interpretation sounds extremely stupid.

That's what I assumed.  Is it even confirmed that they are her old lightsaber's, I can't remember if she ever got them back in the Clone Wars.  I don't think she did so I just assumed Ahsoka went and purposely built some new ones with the white crystals as a choice of symbolism, not some natural reaction in the crystals to her alignment.

As far as I can recall, there has been nothing in the new canon that shows lightsabers changing color without a change of crystals.

It is weird, though. She is basically fighting the same enemy anyway, since she is part of the rebel alliance.

I think this is the most likely thing, and the statement was just worded strangely. Does anyone have a link to when he actually said it?

Alright, this crystal-nonsense needs to get out of my head now...I'll try a change of topic. Because since the announcement of the whole cast of Ep. 7 and the characters involved...well...for a galaxy full of aliens there are...not really that many aliens involved, at least not in leading or speaking roles? Serkis will play one, sure, and Lupita as this space-pirate hopefully ends up being cool and not just a throwaway-role

But else?

Dameron Poe - Human

Finn - Human

Kylo Ren - Human (?)

Rey - Human

Phasma - very probably human

Han Solo - half human (half bada$$)

Luke - human

Leia - Human

Okay, Chewie...yeah...but what I mean, why no aliens as part of the "main crew of heroes" ? Aliens for the most part only add to the background. The prequels, beside all its shortcomings, at least added some more of them in speaking roles. But ultimately we only see human heroes doing the important stuff. It needed a kid's show to add Ashoka to the "main cast", and it seems Rebels has some of it...

But really, I would like one or two "aliens" as part of the hero-squad in the next movies. Why not a Twi'Lek love-interest for Finn or Dameron /whoever doesn't get a shot at Rey ^^), or maybe a green Mirialan-Jedi (that is not just lingering in the background....^^) or a Togruta-Bounty-Hunter - I mean those are still "humany" enough as to not "alienate" (hah! ) the casual viewer too much (like a Gand or Verpine might). But it would add some flavour, at least for me...

I mean, it's not like I am asking for THIS to happen:

Andy Serkis is playing a character called Supreme Leader Snoke. His character name is on imdb now. Most likely an alien character.

I think I saw a picture of Gleeson wearing an imperial officer's uniform as well. I am guessing he has a Tarkin-role or something. Maybe he is playing Tarkin's grandchild?

I hope Gleeson plays the Tarkin archetype and is not related to Tarkin at all. I don't Star Wars to feel even smaller now.

I doubt that The First Order is going to let an alien lead them, I see Snoke as being on level with the name Palpatine in terms of sounding alien. On the other hand, The First Order could be quite different from the Empire and desperate since the war has been going on for so long.

IF he isn't human, he will be human-esque

I wish! I have a feeling that the cast will be full of humans. It would be nice to have some aliens...

I think they are not really behind the whole "Human-only"-doctrine mostly the EU did create. Palpatine in the prequels had many alien-advisors (though of course this could have been a ruse to gain power), and that Inquisitor in the Rebel-Series isn't a human either?

Star Wars is almost like Star Trek now, just one token alien like Worf on the bridge (Chewie..), and the rest an almost exclusive human club...

And Supreme Leader Snoke, well, Thrawn surely is not the first one I think of with that name...bur more this ...

Jake LLoyd - Anakin in The Phantom Menace - has been arrested for reckless driving and leading the police on a car chase. Is it too soon to say: "Now this is podracing!" ?

Bland characters, terrible writing, weak plot and telling the story we know the ending of?

Or Jar-Jar?
