I'm optimistic about 8. Rian Johnson could be a pretty good person behind that helm. I mean Looper was awesome. Brothers Bloom was okay, but hey. He also directed arguably the best episode of Breaking Bad.
J.J. can still go lock himself in The Hatch though....

SW Rebels update. Vader got beaten twice by Aladdin and his merry friends in season 2 ep 1. He managed to shoot down some A-wings, but still...They are turning Vader into a parody now.
Wow, they're not even building him up into a badass.

Wow, they're not even building him up into a badass.
There's no way to do a villain justice without basically a really depressing story arc. Edit: Unless you do a villain protagonist. But I don't see SW going that way.

Well, there was Anakin but he was supposed to start out a hero protagonist before developing into a villain protagonist. Opinions vary whether or not the development happened significantly enough.
He was also suppose to be likable but it may be that my opinion is a bit biased because of my dislike of adult Anakin from the trilogy.

Although I suppose you could make the argument that Obi-Wan qualifies as a villain based on him apparently being a Sith; "Only the Sith deals in absolutes" afterall.
