You do realize that one Gungan (I assume we're talking about Jar-Jar.) does not represent an entire race. If anything, the Gungans banished Jar-Jar for his antics.

No, just Jar-Jar was portrayed as a buffon. The rest were portrayed as prideful (but paranoid) species even Boss Nass.
Indeed, its made even worse when Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for the role of Anakin and its safe to say he would have been a better casting choice.

I have to disagree there. Boss Nass and the other Gungans were all portrayed as buffoons for the laughs. Jar Jar wasn't really an exception.
Jar-Jar was specifically put in for comic relief. The Gungans themselves were supposed to be a little more legit yet, like Jar-Jar, somewhat funny. But Jar-Jar was made out to be a complete screw ball while the Gungans as a whole were just "kinda quirky".
I dont care one of em was voiced by Brian Blessed. they iz cool by my standards after that.
Not even Leo could have redeemed his awful lines. You could even see Ewan McGregor struggling with them on multiple occasions and he's a fantastic actor.

TPM was boring and it didn't make a lot of sense, but it didn't contain anything quite as offensively bad as AotC's love story, I mean FFS, Anakin admitted that he murdered an entire village and Padme just marries him anyway, what could possibly go wrong? Well it shouldn't, basically, when you watch the holiday special, you watch a couple of wookiees sitting around, watching tv for an hour and a half. Not even particularly good TV. By the end, I couldn't tell whether I or the wookiees had spent their time more poorly.

Han Solo was supposed to take Chewbacca back to Kashyyyk to celebrate space christmas with his family, but they got held up by the Empire. So Chewbacca's family just watched a whole bunch of TV while they waited for them. And I think that at some point, the Empire tears Chewbacca's house apart looking for evidence connecting him to the rebellion, but in the end, Han and Chewy throw them out of a tree. And at some point, Boba Fett rides around on the back of an elasmosaur. But it was mostly just wookiees watching boring daytime television.
