Same. Is it sad that i find the extended universe more interesting than the original movies? Ofc there wouldn't be a Star Wars without them, but damn Bioware and Obsidian did some great work on their lore.
No it's not sad. It's true. KoTOR is better than anything in the prequel trilogies and anything except Empire Strikes Back in the originals. The books by Drew K. are great too.

I believe it was a special edition add-in, however the character "Arica" could have been in the original cut. It is possible that someone went back and named that character to fit with Mara Jade's backstory later on as that was a process that was done with all of the films.
Edit: However, Timothy Zahn claimed right after Disney bought Lucasfilm that George Lucas had given him the story for 7-9 and his Thrawn Trilogy was supposed to be a bridge between episode 6 and 7, so make of that what you will

I think it's more likely the female inquisitor is Zare Leonis's missing sister. It feels like it would tie in the dangling plot thread from the season one, as well as give Zare more to do in season 2.

While it probably won't be Mara Jade, Dave Filloni had plans for her in The Clone Wars and cut them at the last second. Dave seems to like to revisit things, so I have some small degree of hope that he'll bring back Mara Jade and maybe even Thrawn. He already brought the Inquisitors back into canon with Rebels, so there is a small hope.
I'd really hate it if good characters like Mara and Thrawn get put into that "show".
I watched a couple of episodes of Rebels now. They should have pulled a Seinfeld and quit while they were on top with TCW.

As a fan of TCW, I can definitely say Rebels season 1 is much better then TCW's season 1. They even put the episodes out in their correct order.

I have no clue, but does it cost so much to make these cgi-cartoons look, you know, kinda good? With chars less playmobil? Or, well, maybe just draw them? In Korea like in the last millenium? I mean, I don't think it looked that much cheaper...well...okay, "Droids" and "Ewoks" maybe did, but my nostalgia-clouded mind still thinks cgi looks more lifeless than drawn stuff ...

Katarn was superb! Zero chance of him popping up in the new SW though. The characters from the kid's show will be doing the stuff he did in the old EU.

Well both Rebels and TCW were aimed at younger viewers. But I agree, and at least with TCW it a had a cool stylized look and I liked the painted aesthetic everything had. Where you could make out the brush stokes and such. Rebels.......Rebels looks like something from Nick Jr.

I do agree and TCW was only ended because the contract they had with Cartoon Network or something. Plus Disney didn't want to have it running on that Network after they took over Star Wars

The sith triumvirate from TSL should be made canon as well, their among the best SW villains especially Kreia.

To me, Kotor 1 and 2 should be remastered and made into canon. and Yes I would love to see a good Kotor 3.
