From what I perceived, Revan is a true master and the heart of the Force, while the Exiled messes with the Force since he/she's been severed from it, and surpasses every boundary, he's death for the Force... so if Dark Plagueis takes one bite, Revan takes two. Fire can make water boil and evaporate, but if water is of the same level of fire, it estinguishes that. Revan is fire and the Exiled is water.

Sorry.

the truth about Revan and Jedi Exile is not in their strength in the force but they making other people to fall on their hubris by either making other overthink their plans and thus making a mistake or underestimating them and still doing something stupid. For they will find a flaw.

Also under the right conditions, even Jar Jar Binks can defeat Sidious.

True A Robless Jedi would be nice, an Jedi with armor that is not Vader would be interesting. Also Luke had a few pilot jumpsuits and some basic clothing in addition to his Jedi Knight Robes for Return of the Jedi.

Kylo is Luke's son.

When in doubt, one can look at THE core themes of the films-

Destiny
The Skywalker Messiah complex.
Father and sons.

Kylo = Skywalker + Solo

Ren

Spoiler

Coincidence? Probably  Hopefully.

Also, is that Anakin's lightsaber that Finn is holding on to? The one Luke lost at Bespin? Looks like it

Yes, it is indeed that very lightsaber. It has been confirmed by Abrams.

Well I don't mind that Kylo Ren being a former student of Luke. One of the Reasons that Vader is an effective Villain is that he has ties to the Hero. For example, Kylo Ren could be a disillusion Student of Lukes that thought Vader had the right idea of having an Iron Fist on the Galaxy to ensure Peace in a violent galaxy. Thus having an obsession with Vader without being related to him by bloodline.

I'd be fine with that, but I have mixed feelings (I'm kinda unsure, really) about Luke having a dark sided son. It just seems like a retread with a slight spin on it.

With many good stories, Villains and Heroes need a good reason to meet up during the Quest. Not all Villains needs to be a relative or even a Friend but overtime they need a meaningful relationship. For example, Revan and Malak within Kotor 1(many of its tropes are from The Original Trilogy) do have a meaningful bit tragic relationship and they are not relatives.

True about the Retread of Skywalker falling to the dark side. Regardless if it is Leia's or Luke's kid, it would be too much. Personally I would love to have the Knights of Ren to have some form of Connection to the Sith Order preferably with Palpatine, Vader, Maul or even Plagueis. I am aware that Sith and Jedi have their own unique forms of Healing Trances that draws on either the Light or the Dark. As for Potential Return of Plagueis, That Plagueis hadn't taught Sidious an Unique Sith Healing Trance and He uses that Sith Healing Trance to live for a great while.

Maybe. It gets handed to her in the second trailer, but who knows if she keeps it, gives it back to Luke, uses it to slice bread or passes it on to someone else.

Looks disappointing.

It's early, but that Rogue-One-Picture simply doesn't give me a Star Wars Vibe...could be Terminator: Future Wars, or The Expendables 2050 or whatever...

And Revan would fvck up both hard. But hey... Kotor is just Kotor and not canon... Good job Disney. NOT!

Yep, true story. But I think the stuff that happens before episode one can be somewhat canonized. I mean the events of Kotor and stuff are like 4000 years before Battle of Yavin... But it's not canon, lol. Disney logic.

Kotor wasn't real canon either before Disney, and still can become canon, or parts of it, not?. All Disney does is clean the slate and embrace what can be salvaged and be used to form an actually coherent Star Wars Universe for a change. Something Lucas never cared about, I blame him more then Disney here...And I am a fan of EU-Parts as well (Revan/Kotor, Thrawn, Mara Jade), but so much is useless and Disney has no other choice then to say: No more, we can't possibly regard every character and every convoluted plot written ...

I am thrilled to see where it will lead us to, I am prepared for some dissapointment along the road but...I am also tired of this Disney-Bashing that has no basis in reality...

I want Bioware to see my post that I considered maybe i should report myself so they see my stuff on me wanting them to remake Kotor1 lol.

I feel Bioware is on a miss opportunity here if they don't remake Kotor1, I still own a Xbox Original too so I can play them when I am feeling my Star Wars mood lol.

Was hoping myself that the female character would be "the Jedi protagonist" of the story.

Just a personal preference.

I thought she is?

Anyone else disappointed that Disney hired Colin Trevorrow to direct Episode IX? I know that they're only seeing the green because of Jurassic World's success, but it deeply disturbs me that they placed their faith in the same guy who had Howard's character outrun a Tyrannosaurus Rex in high heels.

JW was just one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but I'm not sure I'd pin it on the directing rather than the writing. On par with Transformers and Chappie. Ugh. Awful. I'm not sure it's Trevorrow's fault, though I do think he tried to make the movie a parody of itself and failed to get it across completely.

Personally I wanted Abrams to direct the whole trilogy.

I just pray that the writers for Episode IX are the same as Episode VII's, or are at least decent.

Some of the film's failures (especially the handling of Zara's death) have got to be laid at the feet of Trevorrow. At the same time, I get the sense that JW is a film that was edited to shreds. Some things get set up that never get paid off (like the Hoskins/Dr. Wu plot thread), while other things are paid off that were never set up (i.e. the kids saying "Definitely with him" despite the fact that they haven't seen Chris Pratt's character do anything other than be rescued by Claire).

It's not great news for sure, but I think that Star Wars, kinda like Bond movies, are not really director-driven. If you look at the filmographies of Irvin Kershner or Richard Marquand (directors of Empire and Jedi respectively), you're not going to be terribly impressed. But the former is a great movie, while the latter is at least good. Hopefully Episode IX will have a strong enough screenplay so that the movie will turn out good regardless.

EDIT: Added a link.

Really?

Not sure what to think of two Jedi characters as our heroes, but I can be cool with that.

Personally I wanted Abrams to direct the whole trilogy.

Yeah, same. Thought it was originally the case, but guess not.

That was one of the (many) problems with the prequel trilogy
