Good god, man, that is a wall of text if I ever saw one. I shudder to think how long you spent composing it.

Kasdan hasn't done anything 'remarkable' in years though -- You can't win 'em all after all, see David Hayter's screenplay track-record. But I remain hopeful that his return to Star Wars marks it a winner with the new film.
I think Kasdan was hired was because it was for nostalgia purposes. But that's what I think.

All right enough talking about the prequels (and Game of Thrones). So what do you guys want to see in potential spinoffs?

I wanna know who they plan to hire to play young Han Solo in his, well... solo movie. Whoever they get will have some big shoes to fill, so I hope they choose wisely. I don't have any personal picks, so I'm 100% relying on Disney to figure it out.

2nd main character alongside Han: Space Mickey Mouse played by Shia LaBeouf.
lol I stop screwing around
In spin-off going to known less visited planets, like Dantooine, Kashyyk, Yavin 4, Nar Shaddaa, etc.

That would the most badass combination known to man
Though Rogue One will definitely come based on the crew behind it

A spin-off movie about a young Wedge.

I want a spin-off set in the Clone Wars or was it before Clone Wars started, wanna see one of the many adventures of Anakin & Obi-wan where Anakin always rescues Obi-wan lol.
But on serious note, maybe they could do a Sith spin off with Darth Bane. Start of Rule of Two Order that led the Jedi not knowing Sith were still around.

Anthony Ingruber looks like he could a decent job while also looking exactly like a young Harrison Ford.

I was on board with this Ingruber kid until the "required-Heath Ledger-worship"
JK, he is a damn good actor

GoT, all that needs to be said is:
1. George, get writing! That Star Wars hype won't distract the world long enough!
2. GoT needs to surprise us with a character that has honoir and actualyl get's shite done by killing bad guys and traitors without getting betrayed him/herself...mindblowing idea!!!! something never done in that series!
3. Peter Dinklage - future Sith or Jedi Master
As for potential spin-offs...well, I alreadys like the idea of Star Wars Expendables aka Rogue One, and a fun and adventurous ride with young Solo. I read those early Han Solo stories about the commerce sector etc, I hope that movie (or probably movies?) will get that vibe
Not so keen ona Yoda - movie, don't care much for him. But a Boba Fett Movie that may even retcon (some actually bad-a$$ guy takes over the Fett-Identidy) the whole sad Jango-Clone-idea would be damn awesome, with him as anti-hero cruising the galaxy and roaming the criminal underworld - and possible intertwining of Han and Boba's path, featuring also IG-88 and Dengar etc ? Pants-wetting!
A movie from the Empire's perspective might also be cool. With some officer or pilot etc who joins the Empire out of faith it's the best way, sees the Rebels as terrorists and then defects? Crix Madine though might not be much of a boxoffice-magnet? But he could be the Ant-Man oh the franchise ^^
I really love teh idea of these Anthology-Movies. More Star Wars, but with a chance to see aspects of teh universe on the big screen only comics and books and games had covered so far! All power to Disney in this! Hail the mouse!

Chris Pratt? He looks perfect, IMO.
And on a side-note, since I've missed out all the discussion:
We all bash George Lucas for this and that.... But shouldn't we give some thank you for him for creating this awesome Franchise?

This could work in the Han Solo's spin-off... I mean, he was an Imperial Officer back in the day and saved Chewbacca, thus defecting the Empire.
This is still cannon... Right?

I'll be honest: I'm really not too keen on the prospect of all these spin-off movies. The new trilogy is all that really matters. The rest is just milking the franchise.
