Not really.
He didn't design the ships, that was Ralph McQuarrie.
He didn't make the models, or do the special effects, that was Industrial Light and Sound.
He didn't direct Empire Strikes Back, or Return of the Jedi, and was responsible for the Ewoks.
Lawrence Kasdan and Leigh Brackett were at least equally responsible for the story and script of ESB, and Kasdan for Jedi.
The only time he had full control was when the Prequels were made, and they are piles of ****.
But even the main setting of the prequels, Coruscant, was created by Timothy Zahn. Same goes for Kashyyyk.
But WHO created Star Wars, who had the creative vision and the drive to innovate special effects and storytelling. By the way Lucas did not have full control of the prequels than you think.

It has highs & lows...
I prefer the novelization of that scene more. It goes into a lot more depth and explores more about the characters to help make the fight more fulfilling. After reading it the movie scene seems really hollow in comparison. Also, the dialogue is way better in the novel and makes the intentions of each of the participants clearer.
Let's get back to discussing episode 7 any updates?
Nothing that I know of, news about episode 7 has been kind of slow lately.

Obviously it's all subject to just being false claims, but I was curious about people's opinions about one aspect of the apparent script leak:

Everyone who worked on it, maybe.

He had less emotion than a pristine tree stump. Though SLJ just doesn't really fit in a Star Wars movie. Morgan Freeman would make a good, wise Jedi though.
Morgan Freeman would probably make a good Jolee Bindo.

Spoiler
It really depends on the reason for him going into exile.
Then again, since I'm not really a fan of "leaks" being taken as truth...
I could probably "leak" something about SWE7 or DAI and people will take it as truth.
^ Likely BS
I like the likely leak.
I guess spoiler, sort of

This post reflects my thoughts exactlyTM
Him being in exile means this person doesn't exist:
The one with a cloak would look good as a sith. Not sure about replacing the classic stormtrooper outfit though. Too much we don't know about it to comment too much, I think it looks good, just needs to be placed properly.

I agree, I've been reading a lot of BS rumors recently and I thank the stars above that the people who make those rumors aren't making the films. Some of them are so ridiculous and others would make me angry and upset if they ended up being true A.K.A. Luke is a Sith/Darksider (it would largely invalidate the OT and its message of hope and redemption). There is this "rumor" that is just absolutely ridiculous, it states that Luke is a hideous unrecognizable Dark side wielding Cyborg, supposedly this one:
There are three reasons/opinions that come to mind as to why this cannot be true.
1. Why would Mark Hamill bother growing an Obi-Wan type of beard for the film when it won't show because he is going to be a disfigured cyborg, thus making it not part of the film. I could grant flashbacks, but I doubt it as there has never been a flashback in any Star Wars film.
2. Mark Hamill's role reprisal was announced (as was Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher), it doesn't make sense to me that they would announce it if they were going to have him appear as a villain, I would think that they would have just left his (and their) casting in the film remain a rumor.
3. Luke is the White Knight of the Saga, he is what his father could have been. He stood before the greatest manipulator and arguably the greatest evil of the Star Wars Saga and defied him and the dark side. Having Luke redeem his father in such a manner as he has done and then have him fall to the dark side just wouldn't fit the story/character and would spit on the Original Trilogy and its message.
I am super psyched and can't wait for the first trailer, I bet a lot of rumors will be dispelled by it, as will more credible ones emerge.

I agree with you except about point 2. They would announce him because they announced the others to build hype. It would be impossible to keep that under wraps.
I am slightly puzzled about how that rumor gained so much credence. All these articles are talking about it as if it is 99.9% confirmed and I just don't get it. The evidence just seems so flimsy compared to the damage it would do to the original story. It would be even worse than Aliens 2 to Alien 3 where everyone Ripely saved got gestated on the way home.
I, too am excited for the trailer ... Unfortunately it will not come out until MAYBE july.
Dang. I figured that they would have been able to cobble something up sooner, May would be super appropriate for a trailer since they decided to ignore the traditional release month.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity

R.I.P. EU
I have mixed feelings about that.
Some of it, like the Thrawn trilogy, is definitely a loss. Some other stuff belongs in the rubbish bin though. Like Galen Marek. Revan kind of sucks too, to be honest. Too many EU writers tried to make their characters the most amazing/bad@ss characters ever in the universe.
^ Agreed... TFU was abysmal

Revan was good in the first two KOTOR games especially KOTOR2 but Revan has unfortunately he has appeared to have turned into a lunatic in the upcoming TOR expansion. The exile is much better imo but sadly she's dead.Revan kind of sucks too, to be honest.
What exactly did Biower do to Revan?!?
