I will not watch it. I still regret to have seen the prequels... sometimes i wished someone could undo these images!

The Prequels were amazing!

Eh... Episode I and III had some good moments (about one hour each). Episode II last 30 minutes was good too. But they weren't near amazing at all!

The prequels had writing/direction issues. Also focused too much on plot & CGI and too little on character development

I think that where the pre-equals truly suffered was too many characters, the OT had 3, here we had a Jedi Council, plus Yoda, Obi-wan, Anakin, Padme and Palpatine. Not only that, but we didn't have a kick-ass non force powered individual like Han. The OT was also more of a contained story, it felt like it progressed naturally, but the pre-equals were all over the place. I like all the films to varying degrees (except Episode 1) with Empire and Sith being my two favorite (Ewoks disqualified Jedi from this).

Also; it's worth noting that the prequels were based on Lucas' imflated ego & his (foolish)notion that he could sit down and churn out a screenplay in one or two drafts. Whereas the original films were written according to joseph campbell and other archetypes of the "hero's journey"
I am a fan of the prequels, I simply feel it is a damn shame they weren't written with a bit more... wry wit. A touch of subtle humor. Here's to J.J. & crew honoring those old classic films!

The Prequels also had casting issues.

Hayden Christiansen as Darth Vader, for example. Why Lucas thought casting an actor who looked like a boy band member as the young Darth Vader is a mystery.

Likely because Lucas believed he would be more relatable if he looked like that.

Granted, trying to figure out what the hell is going through Lucas' mind is almost impossible...

Because he wasn't young Darth Vader, he was Anakin, who's mostly an emotionally unstable Luke (and at least in III, there is physical resemblance too), which is about the same the OT told us about him. The character needed more time though, because of film duration we see mostly his negative traits. The animated series gives a more balanced portrait of him.

Anyway, I liked the PT too, was more interested in the overall plot and had more about Jedi (never cared much for Han). There were issues, but I also had them in the OT, didn't stop me from enjoying them.

Just hoping Ep VII doesn't try too much to work on nostalgia, they seem to be going heavy in it.

This is a very important point: the original Star Wars films were NOT perfect. They had issues too. Most of us were merely too young/naive to see them.

I watched them around 1995-6 and I was in the elementary school.

Indeed, its not hard to come up with a list of actors who could have done a much better depiction of a young Anakin.

Someone forgot to tell her the unspoken rule about which type of people are supposed to have purple lightsabers...

Edit:

Also, did anyone else notice how her distinct lack of Star Wars clothing detracts from the scene?

I'm pretty sure people in said universe do not wear clothing that would be present in 2014.

For instance?

And I don't accept ones you can tell he's going to fall just by any look at his face. It's surprising how many seem to prefer obviously evil actings as what Anakin should have been.

Mara Jade Skywalker, Bastila Shan, Jedi Exile and Lady Revan are all beautiful Jedi. I am sure there are other beautiful Jedi but I can think of them.
