The whole TOR is a masochistic experience!
I mean whole lore, so including KOTOR 1 and 2.

The Prequels also had casting issues.
Hayden Christiansen as Darth Vader, for example. Why Lucas thought casting an actor who looked like a boy band member as the young Darth Vader is a mystery.
He wasn't even the worst Anakin. Episode 1 Anakin was comically bad, I can't actually think of a worst casting decision in any movie I have seen. Even Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher was far more believable. People say Jar Jar ruined episode 1, but for me, as silly as Jar Jar was, he was simply not important. The story revolved around Anakin and his actor was terribad. Lucas should have written him as a teenager and they could have got someone who could act a lot more easily and it would have made the future romance and all the Jedi "he's too old" comments far more believable. I think an character/actor like the guy in Terminator 2 should have been what they went for.
Edward Furlong, Joshua Jackson, Leo Dicaprio & the Dawsons Creek dork were all in the running I believe...
I bet Leo DiCaprio would have a MUCH better chance winning an Oscar if he was in Star Wars

I don't know if you know this or not, but he was in talks to play Anakin in Episode 2.

Pity he didn't get the part. Would have been interesting at least...... Wonder what happened?

Lucas saw Hayden's performance in some movie (don't remember which one) and thought that he would be better suited for the part. I think that he also had a preference for hiring unknowns, which I kind of prefer too. It's fun watch them grow as an actor, as they grow it appears that their character's mature a bit as well.
Life as a House perhaps?

The ultimate House:

The prequels had their moments, to be sure...
Darth Maul had his moment by killing Liam Neeson ![]()
On topic; do any of you guys believe the characters in Ep. 7 will resemble Mara or Jaina or Corran Horn? I am skeptical...
Nope, although I do believe that actress Daisy Ridley is playing Leia and Han's or Luke Skywalker's daughter. I get the feeling that Luke will be single in Episode 7 because it would be kind of awkward/weird for him to find a love interest while in his 50's/60's.

Which is a travesty and one of the reasons that movie was bad.
Liam Neeson never dies!

Neither does Darth Maul, apparently...

Yes, well Lucas had already ruined Star Wars by that point anyways.
^ Good news, the Original Trilogy is (allegedly) being released in it's FIRST theatrical release-version on Blu-ray soon...
I am skeptical

Touched up like in 1990ish re-release?

There was a commotion in the Force. Millions of fanboys cried without stopping until it was confirmed he wasn't.
DiCaprio wasn't very popular among the fandom because of Titanic back then. I guess Lucas saw Higher Ground too, a series where Hayden played a teen who had been sexually abused by his stepmother and gone into drugs for that. That character also had obvious emotional problems, which going by Ep II was what Lucas wanted for Anakin.
That's why i lol'd... Because better take an actor a guy who got a emotional problems and addicted to drugs etc. Instead of professional actor. Oh wait! Do we still remember Miley Cyrus on latest MTV Music Rewards?
