Star Wars 7 trailer confirmed for this weekend at nine participating theaters, it will play before all movies from the 28th-30th. J.J. Abrams has tweeted that the trailer has an 88 second run time, so it's going to be a full blown trailer

I think you might be right about the shot being from the movies but I can't quite place which one it's in. I'm going through ESB right now looking for it but I don't think it's in this one. Give me a few.

 

EDIT: I can't find it in ANH or ESB so unless it's in ROTJ it might be from something else. The Rebel attack is a long sequence that I don't feel like sifting through at the moment though.

 

Having said that, it's been a few years since I've seen the original movies and watching tidbits of them reminded me of what cinematic masterworks they really are. I think I might set some time aside tomorrow to do a marathon.

 

It looks like this Falcon is Different, though... you can see it when it's approaching. It has a Red Paint on it.

Man I'm pumped. No matter how you feel about the Star Wars franchise, it's undeniably a cultural monument and a new, official film in the franchise is a big deal. Even after the terrible prequels.

 

I just hope the trailer will actually appear online and not just "impressions" from moviegoers/critics.

It'll definitely appear online, even if Disney doesn't release it online, people will record the trailer with their phones when they go to the theater to see it. I certainly wouldn't mind a high quality video of it released by Disney though.

SPOILER ALERT! For those wondering, this is what we will be seeing in the trailer. Note that it's possible the trailer has been extended since initial reports were it was 60 seconds, and now it appears to be 88 seconds. So there might be a few surprises. But the basics are described below, so you can use the info to differentiate real from fake.

Fade in from black, shots of the dunes, Boyega pops in to the shot from below. He’s wearing white Stormtrooper armor but he doesn’t have a helmet on. This is most likely Tatooine, his ship has just crashed. There then is a shot of a droid flying across the desert, this is the droid described by Making Star Wars last month, a type of new astromech that floats above the ground. Ridley is shown then on a speeder towing a starship, presumably Boyega's. She has a helmet on like Endor Leia, a design with pop-down goggles.
We see the new Stormtroopers on a transport. The flight is turbulent. Then there is a space seen of Oscar Isaac in traditional x-wing gear piloting an x-wing. We see shots of TIE fighters. There is then a short clip of the Sith Inquisitor on a snowy, forested planet.
And then the music swells up into a full orchestral piece - and we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley's, saying "Wake up." And then the title card appears - Star Wars: The Force Awakens - and we see the Millennium Falcon, firing blasters, coming right at the camera.

Not at all convinced about a Stormtrooper main character. It was something that annoyed me in the former EU, when your side blows up planets, you have no excuse to keep with them. Yet we were suppossed to sympathize with Jade, Fel, Pellaeon,...

That is the problem with Stars Wars honestly. George Lucas' idea of morality is very black and white. The bad guys are always cartoonishly evil, one step away from the weather control machine.
So it does make the idea of a Stormtrooper character dumb.

LucasArts (The Company that controlled Star Wars Cannon) was liquidated upon Disney's Purchase of it. This cancelled the in-house "Star Wars 1313 game" (the first M rated Star Wars game) and Battlefront 3.

 

Battlefront has been picked up by Dice and will proceed with production

 

Star Wars 1313 has died, (after a pre-alpha was ready)

 

In my mind, Star Wars Cannon is dead after 2013 - No more. In Fact I will be ignore Star Wars Episode VII's existence entirely. Starting Now.

Empire are space nazis, so of course they are very black. I wouldn´t call B&W morality a problem though, imho "grey" morality is what some people tell themselves to live with the very dark things they do, especially if it´s just the easiest way to get somerthing they want instead of the only way.

The trailer is here and I am pretty disappointed, I honestly thought it was fake at first and remain somewhat unsure as to whether or not it is real, but it does match the leaked concept art:

Because based upon the lightsaber in the trailer it turns out that this picture is likely real:

 You'd cut something off just trying to handle such a lightsaber, terrible design is terrible. Also the villain looks like a Revan wannabe

Eh, that was kinda lame. I mean, the only cool part was the Millenium Falcon I guess. The Jedi thing is overdone big time, the prequels went all out with the Jedi stuff, and it looks like this film is having the same pitfall. Meh.

Visually it looks great, but didn't find anything that managed to peek my interest. Hopefully the longer version manages to convince me otherwise.
