I couldn't care less if the storm trooper was black, white, orange or pink with yellow stripes. The trailer looks freakin' epic. The only thing that really p*sses me off is that I have to wait a whole damn year to see the f*ing film! D:

Okay, saw the trailer just today and: Iam very much pleased so far to see: We will still have Stormtroopers, Tie-Fighters, probably Star Destroyers etc.
This means the Empire either isn't dead (most likely) or the New Republic has started to use (like in the prequels) the materials left from the Empire after its downfall (less likely to me, but who knows? well, maybe some diehard-fans can clear that already to me)
So I am intrigued, even if most of the EU will be thrown overboard, if they will keep certain cool aspects and make use of that. For example that the Galaxy is still kinda divided, the Republic still struggling to become stable while the Remnant Empire is resisting in getting completly wiped out. That would be awesome. Hey, and if they even introduce their military is led by a blue-skinned tactical and military genius? Ah, might be asked too much though
I think 10 years after the battle of Endor, "Imperial Remnants" were still kicking rebels ass. Jedi Knight anyone?

One does not simply change Lightsaber's look and sound which we were living with for more than 15 years at least (and turn it into a horrible Long FireSword).

I'm curious why the lightsaber "fires" more like a glorified jet engine than... well, a lightsaber. The outline looks more chaotic than it did for previous movies.
Maybe it's a more primitive design? Maybe the lightsaber is particularly powerful? Maybe they just want to invoke a darker/edgier feel with this movie?
And let's be totally fair here. The Saberstaff was pushing it. Same with the Inquisitors death Frisbee.
Not to say Lightsabers with sabered guards never were a thing.

Since the guard is angled away from the users hand.

I wasn't a fan of the teaser trailer. I just hope that the Empire and the Republic both come across as morally grey in the film, instead of falling into a clearly defined good/bad guy role.
I don't have a problem with the actor being black, but he sure is butt ugly. His acting must be something special. Couldn't they have found a better looking male lead?

Have it your way! I'm not going to lose sleep over it, and I don't consider myself any less of a Star Wars fan because I can actually imagine things like the form of a Sith's ligtsaber not written in stone. Also, it was ONE lightsaber in a 2-minute trailer, so yeah - deffo needs more melodrama. >.>

No idea if people were miffed about Jango, but some people sure seem to be about this Stormtrooper. There's over a hundred pages of nothing but black Stormtrooper posts on IMDB:

Oddly enough, it makes me wonder how Lando was received in 1980.
