I can't beat that.

I can still say it's over designed and the Cortosis idea is more practical.

But I can't beat that.

Should have just had a hilt cross guard with the lightsaber design, and not dual mini lightsabers coming from the sides, IMHO.

The news from GMA is that the lightsaber in the trailer sounds exactly like Luke's in Episode IV, so the Villain may have salvaged Luke's/Anakin's Lightsaber and given it a couple of changes/upgrades.

Aha, I was actually looking if someone posted this... I saw it too.

The Main Plot is Luke's Lightsaber recovery. It also says that the sound that the New Lightsaber makes is the same as Luke's or consider the fact that it's faint, because the User wouldn't have any professional expertise in construcitng a Lightsaber.

Possibly, but I can understand Hollywood's (or whoever is behind the design) decision in going with having two lightsaber as a hilt--since otherwise you'd have even more people raving in manners like: "How stupid is that!? Any lightsaber would cut through it!!"

Not everyone are that well versed in SW lore, unfortunately.

Well, I'm guessing we are dealing with a single Sith then, a new breed. I'm saying this because the Sith Order was destroyed in 6, thus fulfilling the prophecy of the Chosen One and because this new bad guy seems to be salvaging/starting from scratch.

I just have no faith in Disney. Sorry, I don't. They totally milked and ruined Pirates of the Carribean and I know the exact same thing will happen with Star Wars. Hell, they already have 3 directors lined up for the series and one being a spin off, lol. The Choo Choo Cash Train is now departing!

They will be dumbed down, highly casual and highly family friendly. Much like Return of the Jedi was with the Ewoks. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more ewoks and goofy kid friendly cartoonish crap like that.

I've said if before, but I don't know if I've said it here. And this might be off pudding and somewhat controversial and rustle jimmies of the so called "Star Wars purisits."

Revenge of the Sith is the darkest and 2nd best Star Wars film ever 2nd only to ESB. It was brilliantly written and was an allegory for the world we live in today- Lucas said this.

Disney would never do a film like Revenge of the Sith, in which the main protagonist turns to an evil child killing psychopath right before our eyes. Who chokes his pregnant wife.  (Imagine the feminists of today and SJW  response if the film were released today). And the allegoric and symbolic message of the film in terms of geopolitical aspect with Palpatine and the Senate and the Jedi Oder. A man rising to power based on FEAR and WAR. Gee.... sounds like George W. Bush..... Maybe

I mean, Revenge of the Sith was simply stellar.

But yet because it was attached to those two other lackluster prequels, it's not recognized as the best or 2nd best Film in the series. *Well professional critics like Ebert do*. Which is a shame. Cause it is.

And..... Dat lightsaber fight between Anakin (Well I guess he was Vader by then, lol) and ObiWan... My God. Epic.

Star Wars will never be that good again, especially with Disney running the show.

When I first saw this trailer I honestly thought it was a joke and parody. It is beyond cheesy and NOT EPIC. NOT AT ALL. The only epic part was the Millennium Falcon.

I'm setting my standards very low, hopefully I'll be surprised. But... I'm not counting on it.

I thought Pirates of the Caribbean is a mindless popcorn pirate movie series just for fun and its plot is mostly based on the Pirates, Ships, Cockney accent and Humor.

Keep in mind J.J. & Lawrence Kasdan are writing this film, with Lucas in the BACK SEAT as an adviser. They are well aware that the prequels cut many people deep & also that Disney is a notorious cheez factory (Frozen). We must give these people a chance. ONE chance to redeem the film series which has so much potential and has changed sci-fi film-making for the better.

J.J. is a fan of the Original Trilogy, after all. He wants to honor it and continue the legacy of Luke Skywalker while giving us a whole new generation to route for....

I hope.

Eh, I'm rather torn on the lightsaber choreography.

While the fighting was more fluid and energetic in the prequels, at times, I couldn't help but feel that it was less about two people with laser swords trying to stab each other and more like a staged dance where they were just whacking wooden sticks. A lot of the twirling and back-exposing was pretty pointless. (Not to say that the originals were perfect). The actual fight wasn't really the point but rather the interactions between the actual characters.

On the other hand, it was a good way to show how confident the Jedi/Sith were in their abilities as reflecting the time period. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the cross-guarded lightsaber being "unsafe" when there was a time when people could throw their sabers like boomerangs.

Well, the way I like to think of it is like this.

SW 1-3, the force was everywhere.   So, you had to either learn to adapt or die.  This means fighting like martial arts people on crack and hopped up on meth.  Jumping everywhere, flinging your light saber around, etc.  In general, the force times ten.

SW 4-6, the force was no where.  This means that Luke had to effectively teach himself the ways of the force.  Yoda is a good teacher, but there's only so much that you can teach.  Darth Vader was mostly cybernetic at this point, but he did fling his light saber at least one time that I know about.  This also means that he couldn't move that quickly.  Still a powerhouse, he and Luke only had "sword" type of battles.

I agree. Ep 7 will have a similar "force-climate" IMO
