Then he gets chopped in half and dies.

He doesn't need the whole "I survived with my hatred" crap, and the spider robot body...and a brother...etc...

Not without killing a Jedi.

His brother has the most uninspired name ever. "Savage Opress"? Really? That's even worse than General Grievous. Next thing they'll just be calling villains "Evil Bastard", "Giant Douchebag", and "Adolf Hitler."

Still, it was nice they gave Maul some backstory in TCW. He was just a mook with a double bladed lightsaber before then.

Maul's story ended at the end of The Phantom Menace.

I never understood the appeal for him.

That's how I feel, but it's canon now and needs resolution. A movie would be a great way to end things for him as it stands now, there are lots of Maul fans out there, so the movie would be pretty risk free to make.

Savage was pretty generic. But he was also voiced by Clancy Brown, and was in some of the better story arcs. Which improves my opinion on him.

Well I don't mind the character himself or the Maul storyline. Just the silly name bugs me a bit.

That's EU/fanfic stuff but yes, those are lame.

I must admit Darth Sidious, Darth Tyranus, and Darth Plagueis are kinda dumb as well. Why do all the Sith have to have names denoting their evilness?

I hope J. J. came up with better names for the new bad guys.

Nah, you kidding? If Maul's story ended in The Phantom Menace, he would've have been a dead character with wasted potential. His story arc in TCW was brilliant.

Because all the good names were taken in the TOR era :P

The Sith Lords aren't known for their subtlety in nicknaming. I can imagine Cruella von Satanstein being the next candidate.

George Lucas came up with the name and a loose concept of Darth Bane himself. Darth Bane also appears in The Clone Wars series (and yes, Mark Hamill is voicing him), therefore he is canon and not just EU/fanfic stuff :P

I miss the good old days when Darth = In. Darth Vader was named after his role as an invader on the Tantive IV during the opening scene of Star Wars and Palpatine was named Darth Sidious because of his Insidious nature.

The villain of Star Wars 7 should be incredibly smart so that they can name him Darth Genius (just kidding).

He's either in the last episode or second to last episode of the show (the "lost season"/season 6). The last four episodes/ the Yoda arc of that were a mixed bag for me, it explains the force ghost thing and why Qui-Gon can't take form, but how he exists on as a voice. It was meh and unsatisfactory for me, but something that you might watch.

I'll give it a look sometime. The series is, as a whole (or at least what I've seen), very well made so I definitely should finish it.

Part of me wishes the cast and crew of TCW would do short remakes of the prequels (or at least AOTC and ROTS). It'd probably be higher quality and I could live with having them in my Star Wars collection over the actual movies.

I tried watching a few episodes, a bit too childish for my tastes but I wouldn't mind watching it with children.

It´s part of the pulp roots SW comes from. Same reason an oversized slug likes having scantly clad humanoid females around.

To be honest, I've never liked Star Wars. Storyline is crappy, Characters Development is crappier and it Feels more of a Space magic fantasy universe rather than a sci-fi universe. Star Trek is better, But i still wouldn't call it something notable.

Eh, it wasn't exactly like this in the original trilogy. "Darth Vader" was good enough. It sounded vaguely similar to invader and imposed a cruel, menacing figure. Darth Sidious is practically on the same boat but he was mostly referred to as "Emperor". I suppose it all had to do with those two guys being the only Sith around Nowadays, you need to pop out names for different sets of bad guys.

I suppose you're right in a way, it has a bit of a nostalgic flavor to it. Reminds me of the old Warcraft games when you had villains named "Hellscream" and "Doomhammer" just to illustrate how comically evil they are.

The Maul stuff got WAY outta hand. Should've kept it short & sweet. Sorry Cap'n Obvious, but it was not exactly brilliant. *cough* Evil Ahsoka *cough*

Well, I just felt like addressing this kind of issue because the internet has been filled lately with Star Wars hype.
