I honestly can't stand Williams' music. I'm not sure why. The only piece I really enjoy by him is the Sith Theme/Palpatine's Theme.

That is the first time I have ever heard someone criticize the music from the Star Wars movies.

I'm not sure I have an appropriate emotional response available, as this is new territory, for me.

Crap, I stirred the hornets nest. Let me say again, I don't dislike the music, I only think that Giacchino could do the OST justice. lol

No worries about not liking John WIlliams on my front. ;)

Although, I admit, I have no frame of reference for anything but absolutely loving John Williams' music, but I'll get over it.

I was surprised by how little I've reacted to all the news about the new Star Wars movies. I'm pretty sure I will end up seeing them, but I can't imagine myself putting any real effort into it. Even if I'm told they're really good, it's doubtful I'll be swayed to watch them of my own accord.

I'd probably be happier going back and watching Empire Strikes Back again.

I won't let Lucas and some bad authors ruin the Star Wars Universe for me. I already pretty much lost Mass Effect, I am NOT going to lose the cornerstone story of my youth.

I have a problem with Karen Traviss. Take that for what you will. She pretty much ruined Mandalorians for me.

I don't even like the Republic Commando books because the pro-Mandalorian/anti-Jedi bias is so obnoxiousiously prevalent.

It's almost like reading a Timothy Zahn novel: I love him, I love Thrawn, but does he seriously have to shoehorn him into every bit of work he does? The only Star Wars novel I've read by Zahn that doesn't have Thrawn in it is Scoundrels.

Lol we all have to grow and die some time. But yeah between some of the books more so from Dennings, and that lore breaking mess named TOR and the Clone Wars unless a author I like is maing something I just don't care. Its like Ep 7 depending on what its about I might see it, might not. The day I just like all things starwars is long and permantly gone.

Ehh I liked her intial expansion on the Mandalorians, then it just went down hill. As soon as she started mixing her own political points and the like in it just turned to crap, but the idea's of langauge or how the clans work, and the like those I didn't mind.

Ehh that didn't bother me as I never like the Jedi. I was a Imperial Fan, but how the later two books were delt with was a huge let down.

He's not in all of them read allegance, and there are two others one with a clone of thrawn thats killed, one where he is mentioned, and one where he plays no role, there are a couple others I think not sure on names for those though, old books.

Yeah, I dunno, something about it just vaguely annoys me. Though to be fair, Star Wars video game OSTs kept the franchise's feel without being overbearing.

I could listen to Jedi Temple March for the rest of my life.

What is wrong with TOR? All I know is that it ruined Revan.

I didn't think it was that bad. Th story's were great. the PvE flashpoints/operations really lacked substance. I loved the creative PvP especially Huttball. For me F2P kind of screwed F2P players because it made it very pay to win. To me to get ALL you can out of the game you still need to pay to play.

I do miss the game sometimes though.

Elements of the game praticularly in terms of canon dealing with the Chiss, Mandalorians, Technology, and a few other things was raped. But Clone Wars did that as well.

The Clone Wars cartoon? Surely no one considers it canon do they?

Like it or not, it's canon. More so than TOR. Georgie produced it himself.

If that's the case then the Prequels aren't canon

Do we know where they are heading story-wise with the new movies? There have been so many books etc that they have a lot of material to work with.

No, but my hope is that in the hands of Disney it might... might focus once more on the struggle of the good guy a bit.

It's already got dark enough in the first trilogy (heaven knows every movie franchise is on the make-it-dark bus... yawn) and the children Star Wars is aimed at live in interesting times - so an inspiring tale where the good guys win might be nice for kids around the world.

I loved the original movies as a kid and have a soft spot for it now, but adults who act like they own it just weird me out. It's really not aimed at adults.

Not sure i I agree that star wars is not aimed at adults, I think it is aimed at everyone. You have to remember that during the time the original trilogy was made "rated R" movies were basically considered as bad as adult films in the eyes of the average household. They were frowned upon and unheard of. So PG-13 at that time were the college/older teen aimed movies. Nowadays PG-13 movies can show buttocks and chest parts without being rated R depending on the context.

I think it is aimed at a very wide audience honestly. However I must admit a grown fat man dressed in a stormtrooper outfit or even a fatman dressed as princess Leia(I have seen it one of the worst days of my life) simply creeps me out.

@xNYROx: I might be wrong, but I think episode 3 is the ONLY one to be rated PG-13. (because of a guy burning alive on screen) All the other Star Wars films have been rated PG

Pg-13 DID NOT exist prior to 84. PG prior to 84 WAS our present day PG-13.

I take it you're not a fan of the EU? May I ask why?

The best stories and some of the best characters in Star Wars come out of the EU.

Lore bloat is something horrible. The EU at this point is a monstrous Leviathan that lives off itself like some kind of parasite and that makes approaching any part of it the equivalent of an undergraduate research assignment. It's exactly like the comic books, which even when they try to reboot themselves just create a more insane and convoluted plot spiral.

I don't think there's a problem with telling multiple Star Wars stories, but I think that the idea of a "continuity" should be abandoned entirely, outside of a small set of easily digestible core products (in this case, the series of movies).

Let's please not mention the prequels or the tv show. Some things are allowed to slide but other things should be abandoned and ignored entirely (Revan/Exile's canon gender & alignment, the prequels, Jar Jar, midiclorians etc).

Let's pretend Jaina & Jacen are characters in the film; who would be a decent actor to be cast for these parts?
