Poor George, the guy gets so much hate. He had the best intentions and made a mistake, so people loath him for it, despite the fact that he was responsible for the franchise in the first place. I'm no fan of the prequels, but the bitterness directed at Lucas because of their poor quality and disapointment is an example of consumers feeling entitled like no other.

He probably wonders how Peter Jackson and Ridley Scott got away with many of the things they´ve done, like turning Gimli into a Jar Jar clone, butchering half the rest of the cast into often innefective emos, or the retardness of Prometheus.

Ironically I liked the PT, something I can´t say of most franchises from the 70-80s that got continued later. Didn´t like the execution of some plot points, but I also had some issues with the OT and enjoyed it anyways. But how the former EU degenetated under Troy Denning´s guide was quite painful, lucky I knew when to quit.

Yes, I do say. Believe me or not, there would actually be people asking "So, if it's rumoured, why does it have the Poster?"

But it's so obviously a Godzilla poster.

Agreed.

I enjoyed the prequels for what they were, but they still weren't that great.

I even enjoyed the fourth Indiana Jones movie, but it was harder to ignore the plot holes.

No, but it has numerous "inaccuracies" (according to some critics), and has been criticized for the actors that they got to play the people (they did the traditional Hollywood thing of casting white actors as characters that were most definitely not white).

@Dermain, I actually liked them. I mean, not as a Star Wars thing, but the attention to the details.

I suppose they're nice, but the Darth Vader figurine reminds me of Oda Nobunaga from the Samurai Warriors games...

I actually came close to making a post joking about how that should be armor DLC for Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires, but I didn't think anyone here would be familiar with KOEI and their games.

(I fraggin love Samurai Warriors 2: Empires, I occasionally break out the PS2 to play that).

I wish they had ported the SW to something other than Wii U.

Supposedly, there's supposed to be one coming to Xbone and PS4 though.

I don't see why the western market hates the games, they're pretty similar to what CoD does with every single game...except they're not a shooter....

Cool fan-made poster to keep things relevant to the topic (I think they used Groot for Plagueis, lol.): star_wars_episode_vii_by_wolfpred587-d63

I don't think that Koei is going to bother, with the exception of Samurai Warriors 4 on the Wii-U, I believe that Samurai Warriors 2: Empires was the last western release in that series. I wouldn't expect anything else for the west.

In fact, I kind of expect them to stop importing the Dynasty Warriors series. Koei had announced that Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires was getting an English Dub and then a month or two later they came out and said that is no longer the case. This causes me to believe that Koei is struggling (at least in the west) and is deciding whether or not the west is even profitable anymore. From what I have read, don't know if it's true, Dynasty Warriors 8 was dubbed at the very last minute.

This sucks, because I fully enjoy the games. I'll still buy them, I bought both Dynasty Warriors 7: Empires and Dynasty Warriors Gundam: Reborn and those were subbed (heck, I actually bought a Playstation 3 so that I could get both of those games), but I feel that my experience will be lesser for it than it would have if they had done an English Dub (I love watching anime in Subs, but my games I like Dubbed, I also like having a choice in the matter).

It's probably because the LOTR movies themselves are considered to be very good, whereas the prequels fail on almost every level, and everyone's acting seems like they just don't care. Though, I wouldn't say that Gimli comes close to the insidiousness that is Jar Jar. The character's stupidity and bumbling is cartoonish to the extreme for the setting.

As for Prometheus, I'm hard pressed to think that so many people were as invested in the Alien franchise as they would be in Star Wars, especially since the quadrilogy doesn't exactly have much in the way of high notes after Aliens.

Jar Jar didn´t get anyone killed until the 3D series (and from the commentaries they thought they were improving him). Gimli insisting to ride got Strider (and it´s Strider, not Aragorn vs Strider dammit) down a cliff, doing something he´d never have done in the books. To me, it was like if Jar Jar had been the same, but with Chewie in his place. Anyway, I loved FotR, but the other 2 had too much nonsense for the sake of unnecessary dramatic tension. Yet people let it pass, something that doesn´t happen with anything in SW (not just the PT, I don´t get why ewoks get so much hate). Enjoyed more The Hobbit movies, even if the 3rd showed quite clearly there wasn´t material for 3 movies and battle scenes were often silly, at least characters weren´t more stupid than their books counterparts.

Aliens - nothing to add there. Says a lot about the first 2 movies that with all the suck that followed there are still fans around. What I´ve played of isolation was quite good BTW.
