That is the first time I have ever heard someone criticize the music from the Star Wars movies.

I'm not sure I have an appropriate emotional response available, as this is new territory, for me.

Yeah, I dunno, something about it just vaguely annoys me. Though to be fair, Star Wars video game OSTs kept the franchise's feel without being overbearing.

I could listen to Jedi Temple March for the rest of my life.

What is wrong with TOR? All I know is that it ruined Revan.

Elements of the game praticularly in terms of canon dealing with the Chiss, Mandalorians, Technology, and a few other things was raped. But Clone Wars did that as well.

The Clone Wars cartoon? Surely no one considers it canon do they?

Even the god aweful Christmas Special is canon -_-

As someone who first saw the prequels, why do people hate the "midichlorians" concept? Wasn't it good that they gave an explanation to the force?

Lucas´ dream is travelling back in time and burning all copies, so I don´t think so.

Repeat after me: There is No Christmas Special. There is No Christmas Special. There is No Christmas Special. There is No Christmas Special.

Anyone thinks that The Christmas Special exist anymore or consider canon is wrong.

People hate the Midichlorians for the same reason the they hate the young Boba Fett. Mystery is always better. This is why hitchcock kept the actual violence in his films OFF SCREEN... the imagination is much more entertaining than the explanation

Yeah, but people treat midis as if they were the Force itself, instead of just the user interface they are (not that there was need of them anyway). About Fett... that´s an usual issue with masked characters. Once unmasked they seldom measure up to what people had imagined.

I personally love that Boba Fett is human and fallible. I am very excited (and optimistic) about the Boba Fett mini-movie coming in a couple years. Should be awesome...

You mean on how they might focus on the children?

Honestly I hope that they abandon all expanded universe (Including the Prequels and all the re-releases.) because of it's convolution and they re-release the originals on Blu-ray.

And they do not provide "Episodes" to the titles of Films.

Ala: STARWARS: A new Hope, STARWARS: TESB, STARWARS: TROTJ

Then make some more good StarWars that stays coherant.

This is what I was referring to in the above post. I cannot tell if it has been confirmed or not...

The thing that makes a sci fi/fantasy film/novel/game/short story/paragraph on the side of a cereal box, is that it has an interesting, unique, and intriguing universe that draws parallels to our own, but in some ways is drastically different, and exotic. These universes are places that you find out more about; find out more about the people, their culture, history, technology and even a place you might not mind living. Too many films and video games (doesn't apply to written works as much but a little) focus on the explosions, firefights, and far too long lightsaber fights (a little is good, but who hasn't seen a couple of guys going at it with their shiny sticks before?), but really that isn't what we came to see. We came to find out how parts of the plot are pushed forwards, to learn more about these characters that we love, and to gain insight into this universe that we all enjoy. It may be difficult and expensive to set up pounds of explosives and rent thousands of machine gun props but it is not as important as a good plot and an enjoyable universe.

This image sort of sums up what I said, I just focused more on the universe that the story takes place in than the overall atmosphere, but both are intertwined and important.

Edit: So that's what I want in the next star wars, not better cgi and bigger battles, more about the characters and the universe, tell us about a race that has never been in the spotlight, go to some strange unearthlike planets, blow our minds again Star Wars, I know you can do it!

Cheers

I think there are a lot of fans of star wars who need to take a breath, get on some relaxation medication, and remember that this is a fictional story setting, not some historical record or religious doctrine.

Because to be honest here, a lot of the arguments people have here and other places reminds me a lot of the overly serious "debates" that go on over those two above subjects, plus social issues, combined.

Sometimes I get the feeling changing religious doctrine would get less of an uproar that changing a coma in the opening scroll of SW.

If JJ's on board then that is a more than good enough sign it'll be good. Cant think of one movie that hasn't been successful both financially and commercially.

But JJ has so, SO much pressure on him. He has to have a better plot than the Thrawn/NJO novels. He has to have better acting/writing than the prequels. He has to have lightsaber duels with the power and subtlety of Empire. He has to avoid retarded "trends" like the PG-13 demographic will be expecting. (Hunger Games) He has to be true to the returning characters, AND come up with a few new ones that aren't insulting to the audience. (Jar-Jar) He has to leave the audience begging for episode XIII.... AND he must keep it under 2 & a half hrs long.

Can he pull it off...?
:?

Better than george lucas with total unquestionable control could.

If he brings on a good team instead of going it alone, that will be the sign of someone who knows what he's doing.

And I think you don't really know what you're talking about. Why do you care if people get upset about a fictional universe.

I do see it as a historical record and religious continuity, within the context of the Universe. I don't get how Star Wars is seen as convoluted or crappy because of the EU. I think it's done a marvelous and incredible job of expanding on the universe. There have been no major narrative, lore, or continuity problems that haven't been explained with proper context. There's no jumbled mess to it at all. I'm fine with people who choose not to like the EU, but I'm not fine with people who come on here and bash it and call fans overzealous and needing of a life.

Depends on the definition for fun for you.

It never stopped being fun for me.
