Well I imagine there would be some disappointed dudes...because unf.
Wow, so the only things that are canon now are the movies and those terrible animated clone wars shows? Boo.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars was a great show. I urge anyone that calls themselves a Star Wars fan to watch it.

I was on board "the Clone Wars" until the Evil Ahsoka arc... then the Savage Oppress stuff came along and I had to cash in my chips.

Dude, those were some great episode (oh yeah, and you should've kept watching).
By the way, with the release of Star Wars Episode 8 revealed, you think we might want to rename this thread "Star Wars Sequel Trilogy" or something?

Doesn´t look like Disney will stop with IX, so maybe we should start numbering the trilogies themselves.
Worst named character in the Star Wars universe by far.
It's just hilariously bad.
Yeah, I thought the name was horrible too, Savage Oppression, lol.
Nothing more than a plot device on legs with a temper.
That said, a lot of the episodes he was in were my favorite, The Lawless from Season 5 is my favorite episode of The Clone Wars by far.

Uh... no.
Also, I'll change it in late December

Sith aren't exactly known for their subtlety but that name just crosses the line. It's like a parody.
I can't wait to watch our heroes fight villains like Evil Killington and Darth Meaniehead.

Don't give them ideas!

I am hopeful Abrams will avoid exactly this

I keep thinking that "Savage Opress" is a girl.

It doesn't look up from here..

I am still so ... I don't know about that series...most of all the look is so plastic, its as if they had filmed it using Playmobil-figuers. I mean, I play The Old Republic at the moment, and their art-style/characters look at least a lot more lively and less plastic...and I just never saw the appeal of Ashoka...but its funny how this whole clone-wars with kiddy-droids and faceless clones is so perfectly suited for a kids show ... Lucas, you knew what you did there (though MY version of the clone-wars...well, lets just say it would be way different and not so much for the disney-channel-afternoon)
However some weeks ago I stumbled one sunday over an episode on TV and I was surprised the story took place on Onderon, and seemed quite faithful to what we saw in comics or KOTOR 2 ... this also made me wonder: if the series has embraced things like that from the EU, is it making that canon now? Not so keen on the pacifist mandalorians though I've seen some time ago ^^

The problem may be that you haven't seen enough of the series. And TOR looked plastic when I played it. Granted, I wasn't playing it on the highest settings but the difference between the two visually is that the show is stylized and TOR is only moderately stylized. But The Clone Wars is the better product imo.
-It treated Anakin and Obi-Wan like actual friends; you BELIEVE that Anakin was "a good friend" as Obi-Wan described him A New Hope because that's what he's portrayed as, not as the whiny ****** that he was in the prequels. The chemistry between the two is one of the best parts of the show.
-The original characters like Cad Bane (aka the best bounty hunter in the franchise) are pretty charismatic and badass. Other examples include Hondo Ohnaka, Captain Rex, Fives, Bo-Katan, Mother Talzin, and yes, Ahsoka as well. The series also handles the characters that have already been established, such as Asajj Ventress (fan-favorite), Yoda (he doesn't have the permafrown that he had in the PT and his character isn't simply portrayed as wise but also flawed), Bariss Offee, Darth Maul, and Palpatine.
-The clones receive a lot of character development and their relationship between themselves and the Jedi are explored. Dee Bradley Baker has more than enough voice-acting skill to make every Clone sound different and yet the same while helping their personalities come alive.
-The show is for all ages and has a lot of flexibility in terms of the tones that it uses throughout the series. The series has a blend of lightheartedness and darkness that permeates the series. Events may become intense yet that doesn't mean they don't leave room for wise-crack or any comedic moments. In this, it's a lot like the OT. The show-runners know how to have fun with themselves even when presenting an otherwise series episode. Examples include "Landing at Point Rain" and "Voyage of Temptation."
-While some may have a problem with Maul's return in the series, it was handled extremely well and many regard his arcs as one of the best things about the series. I also suggest reading the sequel comic to "The Lawless."
-The animation, lighting, and environments are stunning, particularly as the series goes on. They also know how to handle the atmosphere well, particularly in places such as Dathomir, Kamino, the light planet that Yoda visits in the last arc of the series (you definitely have to watch that some time), Umbara, and Geonosis just to name a few examples.
-The series captures the sense of mystique about the Force that was lost in the PT. While some aspects of the Force are touched upon, it still leaves a lot up in the air.
I recommend this series along with Star Wars Rebels. Regarding your previous question, everything that appears in the series is canon but just because some of the stuff that appears in it comes from the EU does not make everything about said stuff canon. The EU is a toolbox and the series modifies elements from it in various ways.
I´m taking EU the same way I see Ghost in the Shell, several different continuities (4 last time I counted) apart from each other but not more or less valid.
With SW we can have films and 3D series, first round of Marvel comics (usually of the so bad it´s good kind), the EU that just got retgonned, and the new one, because it´s going to be movie level canon only until somebody has a movie idea that contradicts something from the written media. Besides those, I think Lucas himself considered fan productions on their level.
The Clone Wars cartoons did more damage to SW than the prequels ever did. Rebels is worse, though.

Maul being sliced in half, falling down a 700 meter shaft, and somehow managed to "crawl" off an enemy planet and escape, with no medical aid, isn't "handled extremely well". Not when the only explanation for it given is "he had a lot of hatred in him". That is rotten writing.

Indeed. That doesn't excuse it, though.

What's next? Palpatine particles returning as a villain? Or Dooku's floating head?
