The past few weeks I rewatched 'The Planet of the Apes' original version and 'Jaws' (just last night.)  Both of these films really hold up over time.  At times pretty good films just lose their luster due to lack of technology at the time etc but these two still hold their own for me.

What older movies do the same for you?

Like a catepillar that turns into a lovely butterfly, this is indeed MooseLina, she got a prince to kiss her and then changed into this from her former cross eyed, big lipped look.

For being an earlier CGI fest, Jurassic Park still holds up very well.

The Day the Earth Stood Still (original)
Forbidden Planet
Bladerunner
Enemy Mine
Somewhere in Time
Dragonslayer (good example of what a powerful sorcerer can do)
Alien
Aliens
Predator
Predator 2
Kingdom of Heaven

As for Time Machine, I prefer the hardcover book. I also enjoyed the radio program of War of the Worlds more than the movies. Imagination FTW. Of course, I was exposed to both of these prior to seeing any movies about them.

Lord of the Rings trilogy
- even when i watch it nowadays i am still impressed with everything i see

Kill Bill 1 & 2
- it stuck in my mind, because it IMO has dbest sword fighting i ever saw + Uma Thurman is just plain awesome

The Matrix
-  the introduction, the apocalyptic (real) world, computers and etc..

Terminator 1 & 2
- action scenes, music, the terror of machines, robots learning from humans and vice/versa, the dark apocalyptic world (that doesn't even compare to anything in T4), but the reason why i mentioned it is, because T2 was the first movie that made me cry and shocked me, when i saw Arnie getting lowered into the steel.

Sim City
-it's imo one of dbest comic book portrayal movies ever and your IQ needs to be damn high to understand it.

I have close to a terabyte of OTR. Dimension X was an excellent sci fi radio program.

The Haunting (original)
The Towering Inferno
The Thing
Alien more than Aliens which while still great has a very 80's feel in places.
Twelve angry men
Die Hard
The Conversation
The Abyss
Halloween
Suspiria
In the heat of the night

And just for controversy sake Jaws 2 which I honestly prefer over the first.

I can't believe I forgot Adam's Rib, that and the Philadelphia Story (also Sinatra's musical version High Society) are films I have rewatched countless times. I was raised by my grandparents and my grandpa was huge Spencer Tracy fan, I used to sit with him watching them on BBC2 on Sunday afternoon. Although also had to suffer the Mickey Rooney/Judy Garland series of movies as well.

The Laurel & Hardy shorts and films are still funny as frack. Marx Brothers, too. Referring to a contract... "That's what you call... a sanity clause." ... "Ahahaha... you can't fool me, there ain't no sanity clause."
