Oh no, I was hoping that was a lie... The Chris Priestly thing of course. Where will I get my daily dose of evilness now?

Chris Priestly is a great guy, I've met him on several occasions and he is anything but 'evil' in real life. I sincerely hope the leaving is of his own choosing and not more 'organizational moves.' I also am more nervous than ever re the direction mass effect is going.

I hope the best for Evil Chris Priestly too.

But will you still moderate us like Stan? <3

Best wishes Chris, does this mean you won't be at PAX Aus?

Apparently, his response on Facebook did say he would be at PAX Aus, so you are in luck.

Is that... Sarcasm? xD

My guess he's going to show Satan whos the REAL evil dude in the block.

ETA: But out of my ever growing fondness (and also respect) for the guy, I'll just say it's been a pleasure, and hopefully, you'll stay on this mad-house like good ol' Stan did.

I hope this parting is amicable and not the beginning of an EA purge.

Chris was cool. All the good ole' guys from BioWare past are gone. Now we get Gears scrubs and more bang bang pow pow game style. Say goodbye to the BioWare RPG. Like I said and predicted in many of posts:

Mass Effect 4, or whatever it will be called, will be a third person shooter with little to none RPG elements.

Prepare yourselves for the Arrival. EAware will ascend the series to dudebro shooter and truly destroy everything great about the first 3 games.

I am actually looking forward to the EPIC FAIL of ME4. I won't be buying it, but It'll still be fun to watch the forums rage with the power of 1000 suns. Fun times ahead y'all!!!

I love this new BioWare. It's like watching a train crash in slow mo. It's good stuff.

What are my thoughts?

My thoughts are that at least now I don't have to worry about people arguing that EA isn't trying to make Mass Effect into GoW anymore. It's pretty much inargueable at this point that EA's turning Bioware into a Shooter-studio.

Well, I'd like to wish both Chris and Chris all the best in their respective endeavours.

Losing Chris P as a presence on the forums and at events is going to feel distinctly strange for quite a while. As a moderator, I always felt he struck a good line in that difficult balance between PR-style communications, getting politely involved in discussions with his own perspective or the "Bioware view", and then crashing down like a ton of bricks on people when that's what was required.

He was at an event I went to, and I'd echo the comment about him being pleasant. Infectiously enthusiastic as well. And this was in the post-DA2 phase where I'd been raving at Bioware and taking a sledgehammer to their decisions compared to my previous state of raving about them. So I wasn't predisposed to walk away feeling positive, but that's what ended up happening.

Its very rare to have someone get community engagement so right that the general view towards them has always been highly positive, even from people who've occasionally been on the receiving end of muttered threats, warnings or withering sarcasm.

A huge loss to Bioware, and I'm pretty sure he'll be valued wherever he goes to.

Now, more importantly...will he be auctioning his Banhammer on e-Bay?

not surpsing, given how ME3 was marketed and executed- great game but very, very heavy on Shooting. It's a shooter with RPG elements basically. And those RPG elements are streamlined. And EA's biggest studio and biggest series (Dice and Battlefield) is a shooter. So, yeah it's just EA being EA and going for money first. It's all about dem benjamins!!!

Truth? What truth? I see panicing, doomsaying, lame attempts at humor, overuse of cliche buzzwords like "EAware" and "dudebros" to get rises out of people, and an attempt to seperate yourself from all the other panicy ragey fans with a half assed "I'm just in it for the lulz" statement.

1. It's one person, it's not "gear scrubs" and it's not like the entire mass effect team has been canned from the project, or even half the team, or even a quarter of the team, or even 1/28th of the team.

2. I didn't know we lived in a bizzaro world where you can only pick one genre or field to work in your entire life, with absolutely no way to do anything else other than you one single niche for all of eternity. So watch out and don't pick a small niche or your going to forever be stuck being able to only produce products of that genre and niche market no matter what you do or how hard you try not to like a goddam midas touch of game development.

3. Clarvoyance does not exist and telling the future is complete guess work and bull****, and I very much doubt your some great probability genius who can calculate the outcome of any or all events from just a single bit of information given, and without even so much as a look at the script, title, drafts, notes, or even date of release for the product you are prophesying about.

Damn bro, chill out and have a coke. Take it easy. We'll see how ME4 turns out. My money would be on my prediction. But it your holding out hope for a ME RPG then thats cool. To each their own.

Now there's the thread I was expecting this to be.

Though Mass Effect was always pretty shooter heavy when it came time to do things that wasn't trying to get into Liara's pants.

and I very much doubt they would remove dialogue in favour of more shooting. That'd just be the video game version of suicide.

I like how you use a mouth-breather multiplayer term (scrub) to show superiority over Gears of War, a series heavy on...multiplayer.

You're looking forward to ME4 failing? All I have to say is that you really ought to GTFO, that attitude isn't conducive to any real discussion of the games.

Sad to see Chris leave and wish him well.

However I don't get the GOW hate, apart from ME you can mostly find me playing GOW3. With talent from that franchise mixed with talent of Bioware writing my hopes are for great new game. Also now consider me very interested in ME4's MP possibilities.

Nope, you didn't.

But hoping for something to fail isn't cunducive to discussion, and you may not have realized but the purpose of BSN is for discussion.

A sarcastic version of "U Mad Bro". You know, for someone trashing FPS games you really use alot of mannerisms and phrases they cherish in Multiplayer FPS communities.

I don't trash FPS- many of my favoirte games are FPS and I played competive CS 1.6 for years. But again, I don't really care if you or others find my attidude not congruent to positive disscusion on BSN, lol. Just typing that makes me laugh. So.... I should go.
