Chris was cool. All the good ole' guys from BioWare past are gone. Now we get Gears scrubs and more bang bang pow pow game style. Say goodbye to the BioWare RPG. Like I said and predicted in many of posts:

Mass Effect 4, or whatever it will be called, will be a third person shooter with little to none RPG elements.

Prepare yourselves for the Arrival. EAware will ascend the series to dudebro shooter and truly destroy everything great about the first 3 games.

I am actually looking forward to the EPIC FAIL of ME4. I won't be buying it, but It'll still be fun to watch the forums rage with the power of 1000 suns. Fun times ahead y'all!!!

I love this new BioWare. It's like watching a train crash in slow mo. It's good stuff.

Now this whole post right here is just silly.

yeah, if the truth is silly. Then yes good sir, it is very silly. I'm a silly goose tho, so you know, don't put to much stock into things that I say.

Truth? What truth? I see panicing, doomsaying, lame attempts at humor, overuse of cliche buzzwords like "EAware" and "dudebros" to get rises out of people, and an attempt to seperate yourself from all the other panicy ragey fans with a half assed "I'm just in it for the lulz" statement.

1. It's one person, it's not "gear scrubs" and it's not like the entire mass effect team has been canned from the project, or even half the team, or even a quarter of the team, or even 1/28th of the team.

2. I didn't know we lived in a bizzaro world where you can only pick one genre or field to work in your entire life, with absolutely no way to do anything else other than you one single niche for all of eternity. So watch out and don't pick a small niche or your going to forever be stuck being able to only produce products of that genre and niche market no matter what you do or how hard you try not to like a goddam midas touch of game development.

3. Clarvoyance does not exist and telling the future is complete guess work and bull****, and I very much doubt your some great probability genius who can calculate the outcome of any or all events from just a single bit of information given, and without even so much as a look at the script, title, drafts, notes, or even date of release for the product you are prophesying about.

Damn bro, chill out and have a coke. Take it easy. We'll see how ME4 turns out. My money would be on my prediction. But it your holding out hope for a ME RPG then thats cool. To each their own.

Sorry for the over-reaction, I've just am getting real sick of the "Ruined forever" crowd.

Overreacted though, so sorry for that.

I'm breaking my own rule, but it's alright I'm a rule breaker like that. Livnin' in the danger zone. Anyways, yeah Darth you don't ever have to appologize to me or any one else on these forums, but I appreciate it and I'll reciprocate it by issuing my own appology if I offended you. And I do want ME4 to great like ME1 and ME2 and most of ME3 was. But it don't look good. MP studio taking the lead, hiring Gears of War guy to be a senior lead. Kinda seems like it's gonna be a shooter with a heavey MP element. And that's not bad. It's just not Mass Effect. But it's their creative license and BioWare's gonna do whatever will maximize profit for EA.

Everybody overreacting over here.

This new guy from Epic will be just a development director, it's a managerial job with functions like assigning teams, getting complains and stuff like that. He won't "make" the game per se.

I'd lie if I said I was much of a Priestly fan, but I wish him all the best for his future plans! Sometimes change actually IS good.

It is a gross understatement to say that you will be sorely missed, Chris. Best of luck to where this new path takes you. Not sure what to make of the GoW member being added, only time will tell where it goes from this point.

Chris Priestly is a great guy, I've met him on several occasions and he is anything but 'evil' in real life. I sincerely hope the leaving is of his own choosing and not more 'organizational moves.' I also am more nervous than ever re the direction mass effect is going.

Ditto. Met Chris in London a few years ago. Super nice guy. Wish him all the best.

Well considering that a third person cover shooter with romances is what Mass Effect is at it's core, this new acquisition is a good thing. Hopefully they won't even try to maintain the illusion that ME is an RPG like FIFA or Call of Duty.

As for Priestly, well after his repeated sexist gaffes and BioWare's stance on equality, this was an inevitable conclusion. Especially since Priestly seems to pride himself on his crude internet persona. Good luck in the future, Chris.

I doubt it. Maybe the next Bioware forum will have it, you know after they bulldoze this one.

I always thought it was more of an RPG then most nowadays, with the character development and choices the series has.

Yeah, same. He's been the community manager for what seems like forever though, it seems odd him not being around.

Positive developments for Bioware. Having a Gears of War dev in house means they can abandon all pretenses of Mass Effect being an RPG and turn it into the dudebro shooter that they've always wished it to be, and Priestly's departure frees up some extra money that was previously wasted on forklift rentals.
