Hello, I have a question for the developers on a lore discrepancy I have noticed regarding the deeds of Paragon Garal and Paragon Endrin Stonehammer. Essentially, I would like clarification on the exact role Garal played in the early days of the dwarven empire--whether he was in fact the king then, and whether moving the capital was his deed or Stonehammer's? Also, if moving the capital was the act which made him a Paragon, if in fact he did it?

I ask because there is conflicting information from several sources. In Dragon Age: Origins the "Codex Entry: Orzammar History: Chapter One" states "Paragon Garal moved the seat of power to Orzammar..." That would seem to indicate that he was king. Stonehammer is not mentioned in this entry. In addition, in the Green Ronin tabletop RPG, Player's Guide, set 2, pgs. 9-10, Garal is explicitly mentioned as king, with Stonehammer acting as his ally, and moving the capital is stated to be Garal's doing. Beyond this, Garal has a Paragon statue in the Hall of Heroes, so he accomplished something of note and that something seems to have been moving the city--which is what a king would do. Stonehammer is noted in the Green Ronin guide as becoming king and Paragon only after Garal, following Garal's death in Orzammar.

Regarding Green Ronin, Mary Kirby stated here that the Green Ronin lore can be considered legitimate.

The World of Thedas mentions Stonehammer extensively, and Garal not at all that I can find. Stonehammer is mentioned explictly as king--the timeline on page 19 states that King Endrin Stonehammer moved the capital.  Codex entries on the items Endrin's Mace and the item set Imperium ring set in Dragon Age: Origins, and in Dragon Age II with the armor set Stonehammer's Gift, clearly state that Endrin was king at the time. All these references contradict the Orzammar history codex entry and Green Ronin's information, which posits Garal as king. The World of Thedas and the aforementioned codex entries erase Garal's presence entirely.

In The Stolen Throne, on pg. 355, Stonehammer is even called the "First Paragon," which makes sense if he is considered "first among Paragons," but not as the very first Paragon. If Garal is the Paragon who moved the capital, he would have been the first before Stonehammer, who was made so upon his death, according to Green Ronin.

Please forgive the wall of text but I wanted to make clear the discrepancy. I'd like Garal to get his due for his accomplishments. And if there is an error in the information of some source, I'd like to have clarification.

Thanks for any information that can be offered on this. Dwarves are a topic of great interest to me, as you can see.
