I loved the trial, too. It's even better if you're the slightest bit crooked. To maximize your trial pleasure, on your next playthrough, use a Bard character, take the thieves' route into Blacklake, be sure to talk to everyone in the Docks; and in Port Last, gather all the evidence about the braggart but don't confront him.
