Yes I would be it again if a Steam version was made that did not require Origin.

Yes, I bought the game on day of release but my problem with origin and EA's PC business practices in excluding game sand DLC from every other shop really puts me off them. Bioware and DICE are too good a developer to totally ignore but right now i am not keen on investing in such things as Bioware points and moving games over to steam would be a great business move as I dont believe origin will ever become popular.

Nah I already have me2 collectors edition and me3 collectors edition on origin. I dont wish to buy stuff again or if I did I would go with the trilogy pack on ps3.

Given that I own the game for 360, PS3 and PC already, my answer would be no.

Once per platform is enough for me.

Only if I did not have to re-purchase all the DLC I have already bought.

However, if we're dreamin' here, then I'd rather have a DRM-free version from gog.

Yes, I would totally buy ME3 and DAI on Steam. I don't dislike origin, I just like having a consistent library of games, and having multiple clients for my library of games is not to my taste.

Are you asking me if I would prefer Steam over Origin, or if I would shell out some more money for an additional ME3 copy+MP profile?

Because hell yeah I'd prefer Steam over Origin, but no, I wouldn't pay for the game a second time, not would I relish having another MP account I'd have to grind up from zero again should I use it.

Very few individuals would prefer origin over steam (or any other service for that matter)

No. I bought the game once and don't want to buy it again and I don't have a preference for both are a control on a game I purchased, coupled with a friend with a bad experience with Steam they are both sides of the same coin.

No, copies of the entire series on PC and XBOX 360 are enough. If I re-bought the series it would be an ultimate edition trilogy on PC and probably on Origin. Whatever you say about that, at least in Origin you don't have to worry about games suddenly going funny (did you know if you don't go online with Steam for awhile that L4D2 becomes nerfed and you can't choose character) and you computer credentials magically having issues 'requiring an online visit'

I've only got Steam for L4D2 and Skyrim, as well as a game I got gifted. Online DRM platforms are annoying and Steam certainly isn't the pinnacle of the lot. Origin isn't perfect but I have found it is less frustrating in terms of long term offline use.

Why would I? I payed already for the Origin version, and the game works fine for me. Why would I pay twice for the same content? I get it when your disc is broken, but that is one of the major advantages of digital editions, that you do not have to buy the game again the media it comes on is wrecked. You just redownload it.

Admittedly Origin was said to be a little obtrusive, but I thought after people protested this was changed.

Origin/Uplay are pointless to the consumer. Steam invites you in to see all the things happening, daily sales, free play weekends, new releases, mods, what your friends are upto etc. Origin feels like a cold sterile white room, moribund. You want to close the door on it and leave forever but two of your friends Bioware and DICE are held hostage inside!

Hell uplay at least tries to make you feel like you want to be there with exclusive rewards and the option to go with steam instead if you wish. Origin just laughs at you and says just wait to you see what we have done with DLC content! Muhahahahaha!

Wait you can play origin offline? Last time I lost internet before turning the computer on it wouldnt log me on, and when i lost internet while it was on it wouldnt validate the dlc, making it impossible to play mass effect.

Besides the above annoyances, I dont really have too much of a problem with origin, atleast enough to rebuy games on the same platform.

Probably. At least then all my ME will be on one platform. ME3 is the ONLY thing that I fire up Origin for.

Yep. Haven't you played in offline mode in Origin before?

Same here. I'd buy it (again) if it was a GOTY version around $30-40. Asking $60 for a game older than a year is just an insult... and even if it's Mass Effect (which pains me to say).

What I'd find very interesting is that if you could take an activation/serial code from Origin and plug it into Steam and download it that way, but we all know EA never plays nice to its' customers and other companies.

Since I don't like either I don't see any point in doing so. Both of them only exist for the benefit of publishers, not customers. If I was buying the game for the first time and had to chose then Steam would be the lesser evil.

Not once have I ever. When I lost it(internet) before turning my comp on  it refused to log me in despite me setting it to autologin or whatever. And when I lost it WHILE my computer was on it wouldnt validate the dlc. So either way its pretty much nonexistant. I guess the next time this happens I could try dragon age or crysis but I feel ill probably get the same results.

Would you like some help to? I'm sure between screencaps and a little communication we could clamp down on what setting's preventing you from playing Origin offline. And we wouldn't even have to use space magic!

I dont think its something that can be fixed.

EDIT: Well i actually tried logging in. After several crashes it started to work, AND it validated the DLC. Feel free to point and laugh.
