The part with femshep being teleported from London to the Citadel and not breathing for a second or two is possible that she had a defibrillator implant (or something similiar) that jump starts her. You can hear a sound just as she wakes up. I believe is that when her vital signs reach a certain point that the defibrillator seinses this and jump starts her. This is my opinion anyways.

Her injuries in the rubble is hard to say without clearly seeing anything. If her face is burned and scarred she could use the same treatment that she used in ME2 for healing her scars. If she lost a limb it could be replaced.

Believe it or not I always had the belief sheps heart stopped te,porarily at this point too. I also have the belief that the reason why Harbinger left and shepard was able to walk to the beam was because nobody on the field were showing vital signs...but thats another topic

I'd wager not bad at all. Those implants from ME2 turn Shep into some freak of nature, like Grunt (albeit Grunt is entirely organic).

I don't know why synthetic destruction would even be relevant though. I thought the Catalyst destroyed AI.. how does it destroy "synthetic technology"? That's like saying it destroys all silicon and hard metals in the universe. The ending is already stupid enough without that nonsense. Destroying AI is at least specific. In which case, that has nothing to do with Shepard's implants.

The magic beam clearly does not target all synthetic material, otherwise the Normandy would have been dead in the water, as well as every other piece of technology out there. We see the fleet gliding past one of the relays, so ships can still survive. It's doubtful that any of them could have ever escaped the blast radius in time, otherwise EDI would have had a chance to survive. It's all crazy and inconsistent, and does not really conform to any kind of logic.

Unfortunately for Marauder Shields in my last play through of ME3 I circled right around a barrier and nailed him before he got a shot off. But like that other game I played years ago that I killed the end game boss in Act 1 with three shotgun blasts at point blank range and saw blood on the wall (the cut scene kicked in late and he had no wounds and knocked out my character breaking my suspension of disbelief and ending the game for me -- if this was real, I killed him.), I'm guessing this was a "plot bullet" or "magic bullet" where the bullet traveled a nearly circular path to wound Shepard in the ribs anyway thus illustrating even more suckage of the ending.

Oh well life goes on, right? or not.

Glowboy is just trying to talk you out of picking destroy. "Even you are partly synthetic."

T minus 90 minutes until the mortar strike hits. Yeah, that's about the time I take about 10 mg valium. I used to end up holding a 90 lb GSD for two hrs. He hated the fourth of July. The other one would be sleeping. Today is also National Terrify Wildlife Day. Our entire region turns into a war zone. Not the little tiny safe and sane fireworks. No. I'm talking the 60 mm mortars. M80s. Stuff that makes your windows rattle.

I did not know that you could avoid that first shot from Marauder Shields. That mofo will never get that satisfaction ever again.

You still bleed from the ribs, however, for some reason. Yeah, I moved right when the husks spawned and nailed them, then moved around that barrier he spawns behind, and shot him in the head.

the war is about to begin. I can hear the warm up stuff starting.

Eh it's just some fleshwounds. I always assumed that Shepard was limping because of the burns. I know I would.

Well, if he can recover from being, as Jacob stated; 'A pile of meat and tubes,' I think he can recover from his injuries in the destroy ending.

What's the point of hinting that Shepard survived if they're just going to die soon after?

Therefore, Shepard lives. Any further questioning can be answered with "it was Space Magic."

Which Shepard lives, Sheploo or Clone Shepard?

That's where the side wound comes from! (Yes I only just figured that out shut up). Thanks!

Except Marauder Shields shoots him in the right-side shoulder. Shepard's side wound is in their let side, right above the waist.

@topic:

-Grievous burns from Harbinger's beam melting Shepard's armor
-The aforementioned gunshot
-Walking directly into an explosion (shockwave impact + more burns + fragmentation)
-Blunt trauma from the debris falling on top of Shepard
-Severe blood loss

Just because something seems obvious doesn't mean it will or will not happen.

I mean, I thought it was obvious from the pre-release marketing that the Reapers were going to be the main enemy, but instead we spend 70% of the game fighting Cerberus.

Since the cybernetic life support in her body wouldn't work anymore, her condition would probably be really, really bad.

Yeah, it was probably the synthetic implants that was keeping Shepard alive, and, if you add that to the mortal injuries from being shot at point blank range without a shield or armour, things do not look good for the Commmander.

Are there life support systems? I never could find out the details of the implants, other than what you upgrade - these are all bone/skin weave implants, afaik. Shep is like wolverine or something. Besides that, there are updated biotic implants, of course, and the ocular implants.

You see cybernetics being attached to (what looks like) Shepard's liver in ME2. Several also to on his spine.

If all they found of Shepard was her brain kept intact by her helmet and a gorey mess, I doubt they're just pieces of metal holding her spine up.

They rebuilt a lot of parts. Both organic and synthetic. I think Miranda said Bio-Synthetic fusion.

Technically, even through Cerberus, the reapers are still the main enemy, just like how the reapers are the cause of all the fighting that takes place in The Arrival. You only fight Batarians and humans, but you know why this is happening, same with Cerberus. But thematically, providing certain imagery has to have a point. If Shepard just dies, just have the Citadel explode and have a crewmember put the name on the wall. Anything other than that would be utterly pointless.

Ah, I noticed a difference between "I did not play Arrival" -- The characters say "Lock up" and Shepard corrects them "Relieved of duty". Nice save. Must have been the Citadel DLC patch.

Yeah, and Mac gives you "the feelz" with the dreams about chasing this kid running through the forest, and you catch up to him and he stands there and burns up in flames. Then Liara knocks on your door instead of barging in. Shepard says "I miss Kaidan." or "I'll let them rest." ... never anything about "I'm having these stupid dreams about a goddamn kid I saw once."

"Thane, you're not going to be alone for long." Weez iz going to make da player sakerfise Shepperd. What happened to the "I plan to win this thing and live to tell about it", huh?

Not all of the upgrades are reaper tech. Shepard survives because she's goddamn Shepard.

Shepard was forced to die by developers and writers that hate him/her.  They just wanted to be done with the series and out of the door with minimum effort.

I'm not sure why they even put a 'breath scene' in for High EMS Destroy.  It's some of the weakest writing I have ever seen - a complete lack of trying or caring on their part.

Hopefully Bioware gets the point - I do NOT play to lose.  It's insulting. No attempt at all would have been better than the pathetic effort they put into the ending.
