The catalyst saved my shepard by giving him mouth to mouth, hence the gasping for air. And the keepers were kind enough to bring up corpses and perform a blood transfusion for me. #teamwork

Derp Shepard fell from the crudible and crash landed on the wards, miraculously the shockwave from his splattering waking up clone shep to continue the fight.

Harbinger's beam shredded Shep's armour. There's no way Shep wasn't already torn up inside before the tube blew up in his face and the Citadel exploded around him. And the rubble fell all around him, or him onto the rubble, it really doesn't matter.

People are free to take the breath scene how they will, but if you ask me, Shep's dead baby, Shep's dead.

Shepard isn't lacerated from their armor, you can clearly see it. Their armor is melted, not shredded or torn.

I agree, it's melted. Probably the reason he is still able to move.

Well, if anything that would be even worse wouldn't it? Shep meets enough heat to melt inch thick metal off him. He should have been cooked.

The armor was never touching his skin.

It's Shepard, he can't die. I personally think he's badly injured. Shepard is strong willed. I also think the purpose the breath scene exists is to give people hope that he's alive. I don't see why Bioware would troll us by showing the breath scene, just to see him die a second later. It sounds stupid. He's alive if you think he's alive. No matter the logic and pseudoscience behind it.

Well, it's close enough to his skin that he'd feel the force. It offered him some protection but there's only so much it could take. He's not doing well after getting so close to a stream of molten metal moving at a fraction of lightspeed, I'll say that much.
