^^ Because DA:I will have to deal with implementing of Warden and Hawke somehow. Disappearing act will need to be explained. Kirkwall adventures ended with a cliffhanger, didn’t they?

Why?

It doesn't make a lick of difference where Hawke is, what heppened to him. What matters is that he inadvertently started the war. Same for the Warden, but the opposite.

I personally would expect some dealing with Hawke & Warden fate since they bundled them into a DA2 ending cliffhanger. If Hawke was off sailing the sword coast with his Isabela then i wouldn't care less if he didn't get dealt with in DAI.

The Warden's job is to stay out of everything happening in Kirkwall. In Fact Any Wardens that might have been there probably kept and extremely low profile or left for a bit because of them.

DA:O your involved in politics but only in a grey area capacity of getting involved expedited the Grey Wardens Real Task of fighting off the Blight which couldn't be done while Politics were mucking it up. It still probably got some very disgruntled head shakes while looking the other way from all the other Wardens and more than a few after the fact letters stating "You need to be more careful next time. What if that whole fiasco had gone wrong with your political meddling?" when it was all said and done.

As for seeing first hand much of what has resulted in Fereldan? I don't see it being a big part of DA:I or the need to spend that kind of time there. The Matter of the Mage Tower there is pretty much solved one way or the other in DA:O and the overall idea of what Inquisition brings to mind particularly after DAII kind of puts Kirkwall out of things in the grand scheme going forwards. Sounds more like what we are going to be dealing with is how the rest of the Towers and Chantries are dealing with the fallout now that we know how this stuff origionated so they may not even be travelable choices for us.

Honestly I'm ok if we can't go there. Been there. Seen the Important parts of the age for them. I'm ready to see the rest of the world. Give us a bit of flavor for it but they are somewhat small places in the grand scheme of things right? Let's see the major powers of the world now and really change the fate of Thedas now.

The comics aren't going to affect your universe. There is no "canon", outside of a default that exists should you not be importing. The events that occurred in the comics and novels only happened in your universe if they match up (Wynne was only involved in the events of Asunder, for instance, if she survived DAO to begin with). If not, then they happened differently... or not at all.

In other words, just because there are Dragon Age stories that exist which cannot import your game choices does not mean they will suddenly override your future games.

Another way of looking at it is that comic canon and other players' canon all exist parallel to my own canon. Just because another player made Anora queen, or because the comics have Alistair as king, doesn't preclude me from having him remain a Warden in my own plays.

Unfortunately, in light of some character resurrections, no matter how well you explain them away (as you have said you are going to with Leliana) some players will always remain suspicious and wary.

Oh and... does that mean there is a Wynne reference in DAI?!

Who said it's a headache?

I believe this person is referring to the various import problems that happened from DAO (and specifically DAA) into DA2. IMO it is a legitimate concern and they should not even bother actually importing from save files. The data path is already broken because of existent problems.

The term "import" as DG used it above might be a catch-all term referring to inputting our decisions. At the moment we don't know how that will be implemented in DAI, only that it will be, in some shape or form. This is particularly of issue since DAI is going to be multi-generation.

I described already what would I prefer. New start every time. But it seems a lot of people would like to see Warden and Hawke (and potentially Torquemada) returning. That’s why a headache.

^Yes, this too. Thank you.

That is very likely not to happen. It's a move that really wouldn't help Bioware much at all, there's be major division over their portrayal.

What i don´t like is the player´s king or viscount suddenly leaving their job for no apparent reason. I´m sure it will be explained in the future, but it feels like all player characters will inevitably end up doing the same thing: disappearing and stop doing what they were doing.

I would rather Hawke and the Warden don´t appear in the game, but getting some codex or banter saying that they´re still being queen or viscount. So maybe the queen of ferelden is still ruling but you never see her again ingame, until she gets deposed or die in the background, and next game that features Ferelden a new npc has taken her place, but she still remains in history as ferelden´s queen for several years, one that didn´t simply walked out of her job.

I don´t need the warden or hawke to appear again and do something heroic on screen, they already had a game for that sort of thing, i prefer them as background characters, with their role depending on what the player was last doing with them.

I'm truly interested to see how the novels, the comics and how David Gaider are going to affect MY universe, because in my eyes, those are MY characters and those will be my blonde haired children frolicking around with Bann Teagen and Bella's children...

You just made my day!

I was a bit confused about this after reading the comics, but I'm really releived to know a certain Grey Warden turned Prince Consort will be able to continue his torrid love affair with a certain Antivan Crow.
