Tomorrow, a good friend of mine will be coming to my house to confiscate my network cable and my Xbox 360, and he won't be returning them until the 25th. I can't trust myself to not check out possibly spoilerific info when it's so easy for me to check it. A few weeks ago I tried, and I was back by the end of the day, so I figure this is a more sure-fire way of doing it. I'm lending him my Xbox mostly as a favor, because he really wants to play ME 1. I guess this is goodbye, for now.

Anybody else going to be going on a media blackout?

I doubt I'll be going so far as to remove my internet connection entirely, but cheers and good luck to you, OP. However, I will be very, very careful which threads I read in the next nine days, especially since it's only a matter of time before the X360 version leaks onto the web (and then EA bashes PC piracy later).

ME forums is basically all I use the internet for these days. I'll likely be playing some Dragon Age and also studying for my finals (I'm going to tell my mom that that's why I'm taking away my internet/Xbox).

I'm playing ME1 for the 7th time, browsing these forums constantly, am re-reading the two mass effect novels through again as well. In short, no, I can do no such thing. My bday is the 24th, and ME2 is gonna be a great gift to myself! I can't wait!

I will be leaving but not until the 26th. And I wont be back on until I beat the game at least once. So I'll stay away for a day or two at most.

I think I'll be taking off as soon as there's a strategy guide leak. I don't really want to know any more about the story of the game than I know right now before I have a chance to discover it for myself.

I'm avoiding story spoilers as much as possible (not checking out the leaked strategy guide contents, for example), but I'll still allow myself to be spoonfed information by Bioware until the 26th. I can't wait to find out about DLC this week.

I'll probably try not to look at anything that might contain spoilers... and I'll probably fail miserably, as always. My curiousity just gets the better of me sometimes.

We are a week from release. What spoilers are they going to drop. They already showed the first 90 minutes to the press. They have basically revealed and shown every mechanic of the game. They have no incentive to do more videos of the story or a new character. The only thing they might possibly do is vehicle and Cerberus network as something they would reveal. I doubt that is a spoiler.

If the game does come out early, no one will have time to finish the game to 'spoil' it to anyone

I'm seriously thinking about it (staying away from ME stuff, anyway... not the whole "take my stuff" thing).  Also thinking about a break from these forums.  I'd forgotten about this, but it does seem that pre-release the horomones or something go through the roof and forumites go freaking insane.
