Bioshock 2 (I don't get the Infinites here, 2 was a far more flawed disapointing game)

Bioshock 2 wasn't made by the same team as the first one, so I didn't have as high expectations going in. I expected more of the same only not as good, and that's exactly what I got.

Similarly I don't have DA2 on my list like a lot of other people because I knew from the ridiculously small development time that it had been rushed, and I didn't go in expecting it to measure up to Origins.

Bar none. The most disappointing video game I have ever playerd. Period.

What exactly were you expecting out of this game? I'm assuming you must have hyped yourself up quite a bit for it to be the most disappointing game you've ever played.

I think you nailed it on the head wonderfully why is was a dissapointment for a lot of people is cause they overhyped it themselves to oblivion. Also with nerd culture it would spread no matter what.

The only game I felt dissapointed with was Champions Online. In the beta test for it, I felt like they needed more time to polish and really work everything out, but they did not and it affected the game greatly. What it could of done for the MMO genre of Superhero to make it more diverse, it all feel flat on its head.

I wasn't disapointed by DA2 either since I fully knew what I was getting myself into.

I don't really want to get into this, but I feel like Bioware knowingly feeding the player base a bunch of, let's say, factually inconsistent information right up until the release date probably didn't help. Obviously you've got to market your game and that's going to involve a lot of hyperbole, but if you're saying things a month before release it'd help if they were remotely true. Hell, there were a couple of claims I remember that turned out to be the exact opposite of reality.

As for me - and aside from ME3, here - well. I never really followed the hype, but I was generally confident that Diablo 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines would be good, and then they both turned out to be god awful.

None, but that's because I never hype myself up for almost anything.

Well... I actually did hype myself a bit for Age of Empires III, and yes, I was disappointed with it significantly.

Call of Duty 4. After how much I loved the multiplayer of Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Unitied Offensive, and Call of Duty 2, I had very high expectations for this game's multiplayer. Instead of being great, it took the formula I enjoyed so much from the previous games and turned into garbage, and sadly the rest of the series since then has only been building on that garbage rather than trying to fix it. (Though I do give Treyarch some credit. They take the multiplayer Infinty Ward comes up with and make it slightly better. But they still keep what is fundamentally wrong with the system unfortunately.)

Yeah put me down for this one too. I wouldn't say it was awful, but it definitely didn't live up to my expectations of what a GTA game should provide after the monster known as San Andreas. Saints Row 2 coming out later that year surely didn't help either. That game reminds me of San Andreas a lot.

I saw GTA4 as a modern day RDR, which is probably why I'm ok with game

Too Human - Concept had potential, shame most of the gameplay was bad.

Final Fantasy XII - I could see that it was great game but I got no enjoyment form playing it.

Final Fantasy XIII - Do I really need to explain this.

Metal Gear Solid 2 - ****ing Raiden. Also made the MGS story more complicated than it needed to be.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Not a bad game, quite good actually, still fell way short of my expectations. I blame MGS2 for alot of MGS4's storyline faults.

Darksiders 2 - non stop fetch quests. I would have preferred a better paced short game to long one that over-stayed its welcome.

Dishonered - I bought this game before I found out about the 'Chaos' thing. I have no problem with games that offer a choice between stealth and combat but I hate that there is a right and a wrong way to play this game. Stealth = Good ending. Combat = bad ending. Why even give us the option for combat in the 1st place if this is how they want us to play the game.

Dragon Age 2 - Where the **** was my exploration. You can't make an rpg without exploration.

Mass Effect 3 - Don't act so surprised, we all knew that this game would end up on most 'posters' lists. Not a bad game but it was a bad ME game and an even worse sequel to ME and ME2. Hopes were soo very high for this game and alot of questionable writing and design and gameplay choices killed it

Empire: Total War, the launch was horrible. Save files getting corrupted and such. It wasn't too much fun in comparison to Rome and Medieval 2 either.

Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2, I think everyone pretty much agrees that both were terrible. Here's to hoping that DA:I doesn't end up the same, however I have little hope for it and the fact that they "can't" do a toolset worries me.

Then there's aliens colonial marines, a crap game that was never finished. I can't believe SEGA and Gearbox got away with it, they should have both been sued for false advertisement. I don't care what they say about "SEGA not knowing", I think that's false and I think they knew, the fact that they didn't do anything about it says something. Besides, most games SEGA does today are crap with a few exceptions.

Terrible? DA2 was certainly nowhere near as good as Origins, but I'd call it mediocre, not terrible. As for ME3, it was very good except for the last ten minutes.

They were terrible for me. I played both games I think about 2 or 3 times while I played their predecessors for innumerable times. DA2 was 50 hours of the same dungeons, the fedex quests, a boring city and a handful of uniteresting characters, I think the only characters I like were Varric, Isabela and Aveline, everyone else was boring.

Mass Effect 3 had auto dialogue, the same fedex quests, the citadel was boring, it was nothing compared to ME1's citadel. There was a WHOLE war going on and most of the time you ended up in the backwater areas of the galaxy like Tuchanka, Rannoch and a bunch of other planets that I bet no one even remembers. The only times you're ever present in a place it wasn't like that was probably in one mission or nowhere near the good places. We didn't even set foot on Palaven, we went to some facilty in the ass end of nowhere in Sur'Kesh and we never really saw much about Thessia and even then when you were in the middle of a warzone like Earth you went nowhere near anything exciting, that had to be the most boring mission ever, its like they didn't even try. Let's not forget about the Deus Ex ending which was completely out of character  with the series. I have nothing against bittersweet but they did it wrong. The ending is a big issue but the game has so many other faults aside from it.

These are my opinions, those two games were terrible, there's nothing more to it. I hope DA:I won't be but I wouldn't bet on it.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - What have they been doing since 2008 to make the game SO bad!?
Dead Island - buggy and boring :/
Game of Thrones: The Game - good story ruined by bad gameplay/graphics
Okami HD - look I'm sure it's a great game but I wish I could play it without the risk of having seizure every time I enter combat...
Dungeon Siege 3 - want to like......but I can't

I couldn't get into GTA 4, the driving controls made the Mako seem like a sports car.

Yeah, DA2 was the single worst gaming experience I've had, since the days of the speccy. Never before had any kind of real life negative feeling from having bought a game, since you know... it's only a game, DA2 was the first game to basically ruin my day. I guess opinion differs on these things, but for what it's worth I'm with you on DA2.

I left ME3 on the shelf after that, kinda glad I did.

The Mako is the G.O.A.T. Nah but it really wasn't that bad for me. Felt like an homage to the Warthog tbh, which also wasn't that bad.

Easily Mass Effect 3.

And no, not [solely] because of the abysmal ending.
