For rouges. I like to go 2 dex and 1 cunning. Will that effect my armor choices? Do I need alot of strength? Can someone please help me on this? I'm kinda of confuse for rouges. I don't think mages need str or do they need it too to wear clothing items of higher level?
question for light armor rouges (please help)

You need 20 strength to wear the best light armor in Origins. Mage robes don't have stat requirements.

As Caradoc mentioned, the best light armor pieces in Origins require only 20 STR to equip. If you don't want to, then there is no need to invest even a single point in STR to achieve this base requirement.
This is easier done if you have the The Stone Prisoner DLC. You'll be able to buff into 20 STR before one of the (if not the) best Light Chestpieces - The Felon's Coat becomes available for purchase.
Pick up the Barbarian Mace in the Korcari Wilds, head to the fade asap and make sure you collect +4 STR, visit Honnleath and loot all the goodies including the Harvest Festival Ring, then head to Orzammar and pick up Key to the City by doing um..virtually nothing. Download the promotional items if you haven't already, and equip Pearl of the Anointed. Tada....you should be at 20 (or 21) STR. Equip the Battledress rightaway if you've got it, or complete two of the main questlines, then head to Wade's, and buy the FC. I guess I don't need to mention that Barbarian Mace is just for prebuffing, as are the other stuff as you see fit.
If you don't have The Stone Prisoner, just add two points into STR and be done with it, or if you prefer, wait till you get enough coin to buy Andruil's Blessing, which I'll assume you are going to do anyway.
I might have missed some items that provide STR bonus to lower level characters, so just keep an eye out. Anyway, the point is if you are the typical rogue that prefer fighting in light armor, you don't need need more than a couple of points in STR. For power gaming freaks, that would be equal to 0.

I find dexterity more useful with rouges, although I rarely apply them anymore.
Dexterity is also the best statistic for rogues. Caradoc and Blazomancer have the right of it. And the longbow is a lot better than crossbows, at least in game. Go get a Brecilian and pick up Falon'Din's Reach or if you don't like blacksmith's daughters, go to Redcliffe and get Far Song.

Is it wrong to argue for a more 1 dex. to 1 cunning ratio on a rogues? Or am I remembering wrong. Oh yes I get 22 Strength for ancient eleven armor but you may have the battledress which I think is overpowered.

^ 1:1 is also good I guess. My favourite however is to focus on CUNN after getting 30 DEX.
