And thats why they never will. As then it forces them to count on the software market, for example say you have all the games like you want.
Wii-U is say 250, PC is like 1200, X1 is 500, PS4 is 400 (not saying thats the price just going with that as examples) And they all have the same games and can do the same things. Well guess who won't have a job soon. Its a selfish, stupid and frankly destructive idea.

What? Who in their right mind would spend $1200 on a PC? You'd only be able to play like 3 games at max settings that you couldn't play on an $800 PC at max settings at any time of purchase. If you really want to play the lastest Zelda, Mario and Smashbrother titles, learn Moore's Law and put the savings toward a Wii U.

Consoles are always priced to sell at a loss. They make it back on software. If there is a way to hog a larger share of the market for themselves, you better believe they're gonna get on that.

Xbox doesn't exactly have a lot of great exclusives; you're not really missing much there.

That's funny, because it's the other way around for me. PlayStation hasn't had a single exclusive that has caught my eye, while there have been plenty of Xbox exclusives that I would've been disappointed at missing out on.

It really is funny how these things work, because for me it's the PlayStation as well that has the interesting exclusives, while I rarely felt I was missing something on the Xbox. Well, guess it's a good thing we're playing on our respective console then!

So we have exclusives because otherwise people would lose their jobs?  Except again, I'm making the point that each don't do the same thing.  The Wii-U has a unique setup (so unique that I wasn't actually including it in my argument), the PC is the most powerful and versatile, X1 has Kinect functionality and all its home entertainment options, and PS4 has the most powerful hardware (of the consoles) and is much cheaper than PC anyway.

Sorry I'm so selfish for wishing I could play all the great games of the generation.

I'll hold out hope that somehow they'll bring The Last of Us to PC.

I know right? I traded my 360 for a 3DS because even I didn't know they had any worthwhile exclusives.

lol The Last of Us on PC,you should wait until 2020 for an emulator or something(and that's piracy).

Ported to PC? will never happen.Naughty Dog makes games only for PS.You should probably spend a bit more and buy a PS,since it has the best and most exclusives.

Sorry,just sayin.Don't have false hopes

I could have sworn I saw an interview with the developers where the interviewer asked them about porting to the PC. They seemed open to it, which surprised me. Not that that's much of a guarantee.

Nah, I'll stick with the PC and just miss out on those exclusives. Recently, I haven't even had enough time to play all the 360 games I wanted to, so might as well not add to the pile.

The merits of the hardware that the majority of gamers don't seem to care about and is inferior to PC anyway and always will be?

Good luck with that, let me know how it works out for you.

I'll just be over here, overpowering this terribly inefficient thing I call Windows 7.

The ability to buy and sell used games, the ability to lend and borrow games. These things make consoles superior to the PC. You don't own your PC games if you have them on Steam, Origin, or any digital distribution system. You basically pay for the right to play the games, but the distributors own them.

Indeed. We each get the games we want and don't have the desire to spend an extra few hundred dollars for just a handful of games our preferred console doesn't get.

Meh, for the moment we can emulate anything on a PC with the exception of Xbox360 and PS3. Maybe in a few years.

After E3 I'm very confused at times about what the word "exclusive" actually means. MGS5 was an X1 exclusive but then they said it would come to PS4. Then FFXV was supposed to be exclusive to PS4, but then it was announced to come to X1 (and with the help of God to the PC)...

I thought I knew what exclusive meant, but after that show I'm questioning my faith in the human race again.

What you're thinking is what exclusive used to mean.  Apparently now, so long as a game/dlc is released on a single system first, they're calling it exclusive.  Frankly, that makes me happy, semantics aside!

Lol no. It was never an X1 exclusive.

As Reezy said, MGS5 was never an exclusive--it's even coming to PC, one day (they said they aren't in a hurry there).

FFXV was not a PS4 exclusive ever. It was a PS3 exclusive, when it was Versus XIII, but when it was updated to XV it was on both (and hopefully PC).

Oh no, exclusive still means what people think it means. Unless you know of a legal way that God of War II has shown up on a platform outside of Sony's video game consoles. As far as that DLC situation is concerned, I believe they call that a "timed exclusive".

Too bad, since all of these games are quite popular and got very high reviews. Well, except for that Hipster game Journey, but despite its limited fan base, it's one of the most touching games of all time.

There's Infamous, too. I haven't been interested very much in PS exclusives either but Infamous seems pretty cool from what little I saw of the first (or the third coming out soon).
