Then you would know that Last of Us is more than a "zombeh game" [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]

I've only seen I think it was last years Last of Us demo, and it involved zombies attacking you (and the PC brutally ending them). That's all I know of it--what the people who made the game thought was important enough to show at the biggest gaming event of the year.

Using a demo to judge the game, I can't tell if serious or..

Well come on, are you really expecting people to have done in-depth research on that they'll never buy (because it's a PS4 exclusive).

That's the entire purpose of a game demo.

Whether or not Last of Us is filled with and mostly about zombies or not, I haven't seen anything about it that makes me want to look into it more than I already have. I've seen people praising it as one of the last great games of this console generation and I've seen the TV ad for it and looked at the product description for it on amazon and didn't see anything that made me wish I had a PS3 to play it.

Not really.

The purpose of that demo was to show off gameplay and action, and slight setting of the story.

So ME3 is indeed about zombies then. Gotcha.

That isn't how you judge a game?

How so? You don't even actually FACE any human husks in the ME3 demo--they're there but you don't fight them--you face the batarians.

Husks in Mass Effect are "zombies zombies zombies", better not play it.

You're absolutely right, they are zombies. But they aren't the focus. They aren't the setting. If there was an ME game that was solely about dealing with Husks, I would not buy it.

To be fair, Last of Us doesn't have the infection as the "main" focus, it's the relationship between Joel and Ellie that is the focus, with the Cordyceps infection obviously playing a role in how/what/why they're doing what they do, but there are many moments in the game that don't involve any type of infected, which relate to the Joel and Ellie's relationship development and the dynamics that they both bring to the "world" itself.

No, I don't judge a game from a 10 minute demo...

TLOU is by far, more than just a "shoot and kill" & "action sequence after action sequence" game or, just another "zombie" game. For me, it was an emotional journey, that I loved being a part of. Judge it based off the demo all you like, that is your choice. I did the same with Dead Space, which I hated the demo for. Then a year later, I thought, "Hey, why the **** not? 20 bucks, big deal". So I bought it and loved it and I don't regret it.

You may not, but not everyone has time to look more into it than that. Game demos are indeed for interesting people who aren't sure if they want to play a game or not. It sounds to me like companies need to do a better job with their demos, which is probably true.

Or you could watch... the review for the game...

Which is generally better at telling you whats-what than a year-old demo...

What does the length have to do with anything? The point is, whoever made the game CHOSE to display that at E3. A game is judged by the demo it presents, that's just how it works.

They aren't zombies like the humans are. They stay back. They shoot you. They use cover. The human husks act like zombies--make oscene cries and run straight towards you. I don't think they're comparable.
