I'm going to necro this.

 

First of all, the video is awesome and the aiming skills of the OP on an XBox controller is great. I can never aim so well on PS3 (I'm faaaaaaar less experience too).

But for one to replicate this, it's not all about experience and skill. Invaderone is using a Harrier X with AP III with capacity and barrel (dmg). Those top tier weapons are simply ridiculous. Husks and cannibals are dropped in a fraction of seconds (with headshots), let's make it less than a second for body shots. Marauders take a bit more than 1 second to be dropped. A brute around 4 to 6 seconds.

Additionally, the weapon shoots through walls and objects (probable due to AP) in another ridiculous way.

So I like to see those videos to get an idea, but for people like which have a low manifest, relying on weapons for Gold is still quite tough and almost not viable.

The most damaging weapon I have so far is the Reegar IV, which needs ammo mods to be decent and is also heavy, slow and has low spare ammo.

Just need some many hundreds more hours of gameplay to get a decent manifest

Is there any video around that shows solos with non-maxed weapons or maxed uncommons? In sum, solos with low manifest.

There is an easier TGI solo...switch it to geth...no instakills worries....overload drops their shields instantly....stimpacks work just the same

Here's a recent one from the Themed Solo Challenge Thread: Human Adept w/ Vindicator vs. Geth/Giant/Gold. 

 

Note that for this particular challenge, geth scanner and level IV equipment are banned; i.e. nothing is being used that isn't accessible to a low level manifest player.

 

There are actually a lot of videos of people doing solos vs. every difficulty with crappy common and uncommon weapons. I'd recommend going to the plat solo HOF and doing a ctrl+f search for common/uncommon weapons. A lot of the entries may be screenshots since not everyone records, but there are definitely videos with Avenger, Mantis, Predator, etc.  

 

Edit -- here's a playlist that has a lot of plat solos done with common/uncommon weapons. Some of them are with maxed URs, others are with weapons like Viper, Predator, Mantis, etc.

The only non OHK kit I know is the Jugg. Jugg is tricky to solo as he's slow. I tried once but I meed more practice.

In a way stim pack is better than repair matrix then. Repair gives shields per second while stim pack gives short invulnerability and full shields. I know matrix revive you even from sync kills but I still prefer full shields.

Ok checked the video partly. Nice to see normal stuff aside from the lvl 5 gear. 2 things to consider: PC aiming and skill. Its good to know that it's doable in a decent time but requires practice. I guess I'd need to farm jumbo packs to gt close to 255 of each consumable and then practice solos.
Because I noticed that joining solo PUGs is not always optimal. I joined 3 gold collectors game today which I had to leave losing my equipment.

Being able to solo Gold ominder 30 min can speed up credits.

I see. It still seems that TGI is better than AIU though.

Edit: about the video mentioned above I could notice the FPS difference when the adept was running and turning the camera. I guess PS3 is 30 and PC is 60.

Also here's a low level weapon type thing on console;

 

Fat Turian Sentinel w/ Predator - Gold solo vs. Geth on Glacier. Does use GS V and Disruptor IV, but as far as having a tangible effect on the solo, disruptor III vs. disruptor IV really is not going to make that huge of a difference except perhaps in completion time (and even then, RNG and spawns matter more than equips).

I tested my own advice in your solo thread and maybe I did a record of it. But it was very long (nearly 1 hour) and not that educational. If you like I'll have a look in my vids folder and in case I didn't delete it, can upload for you.

It does not.

 

Stim Packs and Repair Matrix isn't that easy to compare.

 

But I would say:

- you stim pack after a heavy hit (or before using a ladder or objective), and rapair matix has to be activated more tacitcal before you went into trouble

- stim packs deals more damge, rapair matrix makes you faster

 

So I use stim packs for a more aggressive playstyle.

Why collector adept w collector rifle on plat collector? BTW I thought the collector rifle was infinite ammo like CSMG and sniper rifle but it's not. It's quite decent though.

Probably you confused it with the Prothean Particle Rifle.

The collector assault rifle is not as weak as some like to make it. There are just more powerful AR.

Mostly because I spend lots of gels on solos. As a matter of fact I already have 255 gels and ops. 230 cobras but gels are the issue here.

More likely that some other enemy managed to kill you with gunfire before the banshee could finish her animation.

There's a small window between the moment when she picks you up, and the moment she plunges her hand through your gut that you're still vulnerable to other types of weapons fire, and if someone does enough damage before hand to gut, you'll go down as normal and can be revived/medigel. Repair matrix would cause you to bounce up as normal in this case.

Edit: You were most likely saved by a cannibal/marauder killstealing from the banshee

Well I'm not that new anymore. It's not like I'm going to be playing that class only. I played the jugg quite a bit and it's not like it messed me up.

I play many different kits. In fact I'm still trying to find out my favourites.

They are fun to play, I like them a lot. If that makes me a scrub then so be it.
