On my first playthrough of ME I had not put any points into charm/intimidate and I had not done Wrex's "loyalty" quest. So when I got to Virmire, I could not talk him down and Ashley shot him right after I selected the paragon "calm down" response. I was like "WHAT?!"

After that, I read the wiki and figured out how to keep Wrex alive. So on all my other Sheppards, Wrex lives. But this time I was really thinking I needed a new Sheppard who let Wrex die (just to change things up, you know). But I just couldn't do it.

Wrex admits to being a pirate. Wrex's crap about the genophage is total hog wash. The genophage is not killing the Krogan, the Krogan are doing it to themselves. If they can't go through a cultural and social adjustment to save themselves, then they are just mindless beasts, no better than small pox. Heck, the Krogan don't even really care about the genophage, despite what they say. Wrex will tell you the Krogan would rather fight than become scientists who figure out how to fix it. And their prattle about caring about kids is BS. It is physiologically impossible to have a 1000 kids in a year and care for them. Species can either have just a few kids, like mammals, and devote resources to raising them, or have lots of kids on the hope that some survive. Kids for Krogan are at best cannon fodder. One Krogan even remembers when they would arm the kids and watch them kill each other to see who was the strongest. The Krogan are evolutionarily, ecologically, socially, and psychologically absurd and dangerous. And Wrex is a self-confessed pirate.

Yet, in the end, as Sheppard and Wrex are pointing guns in each other's face, I couldn't bring myself to do it. I chose the charm option and kept him alive. All my Sheppards are loyaly to their crew. (well not so much Jack and Zaeed.) Its how Sheppard inspires people and becomes a great leader. I can't see how people would be loyal to Sheppard if she is not loyal to them.

So once again, Wrex lives.

At least I won't have to put up with Wreav later on. Although I do love insulting him every chance I get. ;)

Wreav is dumb and I hate him in every single playthrough he is in.

Wrex is marginally better...but the Krogan are pretty ridiculous. Especially when it comes to the Genophage.

I just can't kill Wrex because he's my favorite Krogan, apart from the squadmate we pick up in ME2.

Well, I finally did it, I killed Wrex. More accurately, I had Ashley kill him. Nasty business. Especially with his body laying there in the sand in a pool of blood. Yuck. Made a save just before so I could go back should I want to revisit this.

Next up, Kirahe dies. God, this is going to be one bloody playthrough! Shiala died as well. Rana, however, will live. Haven't decided yet if I am going to kill Mordin at the Collector Base, or on Tuchanka. He would have a better death on Tuchanka, more dramatic, more heroic, but I wouldn't mind seeing Padok Wiks again. Oh, and Legion gets sent to Cerberus. And I am not even playing as a renegade! Well, at least I did save the queen. But the Council, God bless them, are going to die. Ah the things we do to experience a different game.
