I have yet to see anyone ask about the Inquistor's Red ring stone looks like a piece of Meredith or deep roads Lyrium. I only ask or point it out as in a grey base picture that red ring stands out.Image IPB

Considering that the other three are factions or orders ( seekers, circle, templars)
i'll guess the red one is for faction too so i'll bet the Resolutionists fraternity. It's the next thing that comes to my mind with an affinity to red colour after the red lyrium, and that's because of blood magic tha Resolutionists accept.
For the fifth one i'll put my money on Wardens.

The rings seem to represent the factions: Seekers, Templars, Circle. Some folks suggest that the red ring is for Tevinter.

I'm going to guess that the inquisition split into four different groups and each ring represents a group.

We already got a hint about a group Called Revolutionists, if we have to speculate it would be it

What difference do you think there would be between a possible former Circle mage background, given the symbol on one of the rings (and the current war with Lambert's faction), and a Resolutionist background, as they represented a split from the Libertarians who were willing to fight the Chantry by any means necessary?

It's because the Inquisitor is still pissed his 360 broke, and he's making a statement (and threat) to dudebro's everywhere.

www.dragonage.com

The image at the top and the page background are what you want. Presumably that's the Inquisitor's hand.

there have been plenty of pics of them floating around.

As for the rings and what they are, i hate to say its sort of a "Duh" factor, considering the symbols are pretty clear.

but from left to right, Seekers(or Inquisition), Mystery ring, Circle of Mages ring, Templars, and the one on the thumb, can't see

Maybe this ring is agents of chaos symbol and our inquistor will be able to be traitor and support them maybe this ring shows ways we are be able to guide the inquisition , fourth ring may be something like independent way like in Fallout NV.

Could be that the Inquisitor simply likes to accessorize. And a shiny, sparkly red crystal-y ring is just that... shiny and sparkly and probably worth a fair amount on the open market. It isn't at all something nefarious or foreboding like a symbol of Tevinter, a nod to blood magic, or a chunk of red lyrium that may or may not conjure the odd red crystal creature we see a flash of in the trailer.

It's all purely innocent. ^_^

The rings represent the backgrounds we can choose from. I think.

Ah someone else saw the same thing I did. I was hoping for David or Mike or Chris to give some input as the world of Thedas does not have a ring crest description of it. We Know already about most of the group symbols just hoping to get a Dev's to throw us a bone on this.Image IPB

I dont think that these rings are the possible background of which we'll choose for our PC inquisitor.
But if they are, i think that the difference in the history of each background could be the experiences that our PC had as a mage. Maybe something traumatic happened to him that made him harder and easier to accept Resolutionist beliefs , or he/she havent experienced  something dramatic and so he/she devoloped a more diplomatic point of viem in how mages can gain their freedom.

But i say again i dont think they'll be this kind of origin backgrounds, but the factions that are depicted in rings.
And then the differences of these faction will be their political magnitude.
If the red ring is a faction of that style that we are talking about (Resolutionists), then us a group they have the potential to grow into a fanatic force., and compared to them the Circle of Magi faction would be a more diplomatic
one ( yes thell fight for their freedom but not cross the limits) .
And something about the same will happen with Seekers and Tempalrs.
The one faction would be the more ruthless one
and the other the diplomatic. I dont know what the status of Seekers may be, (with Lambert missing)
but i think that the one faction will want the mages eradicated
while the other will try a better solution.
But all these are guesses till we know more about the story.

I guess the rings could be trophies that were collected from each completed infiltration.

Clearly the  inquisitor  is the meteor  child from the  wardens keep DLC and the red ring  is  red kryptonite.

Actually the 5 rings are only the beginning. The Inquisitor's hidden agenda will be to find the other 5 missing rings, on his quest to become the new Mandarin and kill Iron Man.
