Who else is playing the game "vanilla" as it were, without using any of the DLC armour even if they own it?

Personally I consider these extra armours cheats, as they are very powerful armours that are given free just for giving them more money.. I wouldn't use a +10% damage code at the start of a game and I wont use extra armour.. just like I didn't in Dead Space. Anyone else?

I don't know what the fuss is about, the armour stats are hardly gamebreaking and would probably take a lot of stats to even equip them, just like the blood dragon armour in DA:O.

the stats are going to be a huge boost at the start of the game, imo. by endgame they will be useless. i am playing on insanity so i want the boost.

What makes you think that the dlc armors are any more powerful than the other armors? Each offers its own unique advantages but none of them scream over powered. By your logic the visor is an armor cheat seeing as it gives 10% head shot damage.

We won't know this till we see the stats of other, regular armor. Since they're based on precentages, some armor might scale very well in the end-game.

One of the devs stated the BDA also gives 10% shield strength increase.

Likely endgame N7 armor will be most OP.

I'll probably wait until near the end of the game to use them, and just use armor I find until then.

I never use preorder gear, simply because I *like* starting out with bad gear so I'm constantly finding upgrades as I play. It's that "Ooh, shiny!" moment that's so golden in RPGs.

I won't be, I prefer the look of the in-game armour we've seen. Though I might try the Terminus armour on, see how I like it.

I'll only use it if it doesn't look out of place. Running around with blood dragon armor or collector armor might be a bit distracting.

I don't think it's that they're necessarily better, it's that you don't have to work for them. Once you have the stats for them (which is irrelevant in ME 2 since the series doesn't have attribute points for armor) then can wear the armor sets. It IS kinda cheesy, but to each their own. I preordered the game so I'll be getting two free sets of armor, but I haven't decided if they'll sit in my inventory collecting dust like the Blood Armor did or if I'll actually use either the pre-order armor or the blood dragon armor.

This. I may end up sticking it on a squad member so it's not a total waste, but I very much enjoy getting a variety of armor as a visual indication of  game progress.

You can't. Squad mates don't wear armor, they wear character specific outfits.

Dunno, I think the Blood Dragon Armor looks pretty nifty, and I may give it a shot. Not so crazy about the Terminus suit for my GameStop pre-order, but ... what the heck, I'll give that a shot too.

Based on how I regretted using the blood dragon armor from Dragon Age (made the game too easy from levels 8-14 since it was leagues above any armor in that level range), I don't plan on using my unique armors until their stats are on par with the stuff I am finding.

I don't want the game to be easy, so I'll wear what I find.. once the gear I start finding seems close to my CE armor, BDA, etc.. then I'll use those.
