I never use preorder gear, simply because I *like* starting out with bad gear so I'm constantly finding upgrades as I play. It's that "Ooh, shiny!" moment that's so golden in RPGs.

I love that moment too, so I'll probably mainly use N7 armour on the first playthrough and then start playing around with things in the new game +

Nah, my Inferno armour can suck it. I'd much rather have customised armour and a cool Space monocle.

the stats are going to be a huge boost at the start of the game, imo. by endgame they will be useless. i am playing on insanity so i want the boost.

I agree with this. This is most likely how the armors will end up being.

I am getting 2 DLC armors so may as well use them. *shrug*

I don't know what the fuss is about, the armour stats are hardly gamebreaking and would probably take a lot of stats to even equip them, just like the blood dragon armour in DA:O.

I'm pretty sure it has already been established that there are no armor restrictions in ME 2. Anybody, any class, any level can wear whichever armor they wish.

Somebody correct me if I am wrong, but that's how I understood it.

Very good question. I think BDA at least will come right off the bat, because I read on the website that it's already been 'acquired' prior to your mission really beginning. Not sure about any others, though.

Sure would be a shame to spend all that cash for the Collectors' Armor then ultimately have to go look for it out in space. :\\

I won't because I can't. I only have dial up. And I'm not going to break my save game with some crappy DLC any way.

Depends on if it's OP or not. Looking forward to the Blood Dragon armor though.

As armor, the n7 looks the best, even more with the coloring and customizing options. I was never a fan of the insect/biomech design so no way I'd use the collector armor, and don't really like the cerberus armor eather. Not to mention it's cerberus...

But I'd like to see a less "armored" version, similar to the team members look. The best maybe like Miranda's black leather version, meybe in different color and N7 logo instead of Cerberus. Or like Aria's dress...

With a maleShepard a suit like the Illusive Man's or a lighter armor with a long coat XD

I got all the extra armour too, except for the blood armour, but I'm not using it.
I prefer the default armour where you can mix pieces and tint different colours.

It's ugly...so yeah, not using it...

Who cares about bonus stuff - just find some cover and play smart.

The biggest battle difference between ME1 and ME2 - is the need for cover.

I buy every defense upgrade I can find...don't stand in the line of fire...keep my team from standing in the line of fire...and pretty much any battle can be won.

I have all the DLC armors, but I don't use any of them. I think it sucks that you can customize them or toggle the helmets.

I can understand not being able to customise them (the collector's armor especially), but not being able to lose the helmet is a deal breaker- I didn't spend all that time customising my Shepard to hide their face behind a helmet.

I have them all but I don't use any. They look pretty ugly and the weapons from the DLC are way more valuable. The only one I'd remotely consider wearing is Inferno.

necromancer is not a class in ME2, stop trying to roleplay one by resurrecting threads...:P

the dlc armors have been pretty much revealed as nothing more than pre-order gimmicks.

and we all basically fell for it.  :?

Not used any of them yet. I like to look at my sexy femshep during cutscenes.

Even the visor was a distraction.

I'm not using them either. If they had been split up into separate parts to fit in with the default stuff, then I probably would have at least used portions of them. As they are, especially with the permanent helmets, I have no interest in them.
